SOURCE: Check engine light

Nope, no check light is triggered by high RPM, unless you overrev and damage something. Go to AutoZone and have them do a code scan (a dealer will charge an hour's labor, but at AutoZone it's free). Post the codes as a reply here and we'll go from there.

SOURCE: engine overheating audi 4.2 a8 1999

I would have the cooling fan checked, and have the thermostat changed. An overheated thermostat (overheating caused by something else) will cause problems in the future.

SOURCE: Yellow warning engine light is

I have the same problem. What is happening is called a missfire. Your coil(s) is bad and you will need to replace one(all) of them. Take it to checker, kragen, NAPA or any other auto parts store and borrow the code reader (scanner) they have. The connection is under the dash on the left side right next to the hood release. Plug in the tool, turn the key to the on position. That is the last notch when you turn the key BEFORE you start it Then follow the on screen instructions on the scan tool.

Good Luck

SOURCE: 2005 Audi A4 Emission Control System Indicator

A vehicle's Emission Control Light is a generalized indicator that there is fault or possible malfunction in the vehicle's operating system. In some cases, these warning lights will come on if a gas cap is not fully closed. It could any one of a number of sensors such as the o2 sensor or map sensor. The thing to do is have a reputable mechanic/technician run a diagnostics test on the vehicle.

2005 AUDI A8 COOLING LIGHT FLASHING AND THE COOLING FAN COME ONHIGH SPEED WHEN i START THE VEHICLE

First, check the level of coolant. Be sure the engine is not hot when you do this. If the level is ok you probably have a faulty 'coolant temperature sensor'.

If the coolant level is low, add until you are at the 'max' mark on the tank. Run the engine and check for leaks. If you find a leak it must be repaired at a qualified shop.

Reset service light

It is not possible to have that reset or turned off "Service Due!" without using a diagnostic scantool connected to the data link connector of the car. This is the only one way to reset service due light on 2007 Audi A8.

Where is the engine number?

The engine number is within the VIN code.
The 4th through the 8th digit defines the engine type / number.
