Question about 2002 Chevrolet Prizm
Front Left Power Window goes up one inch then stops. Wait 10 mins it will go up one more inch and so on. Doesn't seem to be binding - I'm thinking the problem may be more electrical than mechanical. Any thoughts?

SOURCE: Passenger side window regulator
either it is misaligned ... the trim is gummed up ... or most likely the switches and or the harnesses to them or any of the 5 or so other connectors and 40 feet of wire between them has corroded loose or burn't terminals. A very common problem, that very few people can correct (even many mechanics) .... A voltage check would be in order at the switches (9V to 14.5V and reverses polarity depending on direction the switch is switched) and or at the motor (it could be any of those things as they all form a loop through all the wires and all switches when you operate the windows) ... it's a bit complicated for most to find or diagnose ... an automobile electric specialist would be your best bet .... unless you know your stuff and have multimeters, schematics and such.

thats real tough to say, if you hear the motor trying but it wont budge than i could say possibly a bent regulator, but if you press the switch and hear nothing i would say possible a weak motor, or you might just have a combination of two, those are rivited in and ideal to get both regulator and motor in one piece because the motor itself is a pain in the ***, good luck

Look at the edges of your window there are guides that snap together and stay inside the window tracts.these plastic guides do break,it easy to fix go to your dealer get to part.they cost about $2.00 let the window down enough to place the butterfly onto the window take plyers press and snap the piece together, take the window and push it hard into the tract and your done.
