I checked the fuel pump is OK, the injectors work fine, crank sensor, cam sensor, dist.wires, spark plugs, but I don't know how to check the ign.coils and the ign. module to see if any of them is failing, because I can't replace every part in the ignition system.

I would like to find out why there is power everywhere but there is not spark,so can some one tell me what is stopping the power to spark. Again how do I know if the coils are fine?

Guys, thanks for helping me with my Montero, I got a new Ignition Module and changed the Coils too,the car is cranking and almost starts but it smells like gas under the hood and does not start but at least gave me the impression that part of the problem is solved, however, I would like to ask you guys again, what could cause this gas smells,I don't see any leaks of gas,but I know that something is not right, what do you guys think it could be? thanks.

Thank you Teds Repair,I changed already the Ign.Module and the coils, but now there is some gas leak some were it smells like gas is leaking but I can't see anything, one thing I'm sure now,the problem or part of it is fuel,I checked the fuel pump and works fine. Can you tell me what else should I check to see where that smells is coming from and if that could be the reason now for my Montero no to start? Thanks again.

I have a 2001 montero sport es 3.0. It wouldn't start one morning. This happened b4 and I went back next day, unplugged the maf sensor and it started, rough, but ran.. I plugged in maf and it ran

Did that work this time? Did you get a "check engine" light? Get the code read?

Unfortunately, "won't start" can be caused by so many different things we really can't begin to help you with what you've said.

96 jeep laredo stopped running gages quit and won't start even after replacing crank shaft sensor but it turns over like it wants to start

Crank sensor wont have any effect on starting, Cam position sensor would. Also check all your fuses.

4x4 v8 1998 dodge truck won't start

well if ur not getting spark and u changed all of the ignition components lets think about the computer in order for the ignition to work you have crankshaft position sensor that fires the fuel injectors and the spark change that and if still nothing then change the camshaft postion sensor that sensor tells the computer that the 1 piston has came all the way up and it tells the crankshaft sensor to do its thing

I have an 03 montero sport 3.5, the crank sensor (or at least the code for) has been changed twice in a few months and it just went out again... (one week later). it stasrts sometimes and shimmies, sh

just because the code said crank sensor that does not mean it is the sensor. have you tested the wiring to sensor? this problem may be bad wire or wiring, a bad ground to computer or another sensor that is killing the 5 volt power to crank sensor. testing must be done, sensors just do not go bad, you got a dealer sensor too. dont get me wrong there are defective parts out there ,most of these are made in china, also make sure the tone ring that rides across the sensor is good.

Code p1391 99 grand cherokee limited 4.7 wont start

Try unplugging the cam sensor and then try to start. The cam sensor is on the underside of the passenger head towards the front of the engine. Is is accessible from under the vehicle. If it starts replace the cam sensor. Iffy it still does not start replace the crank sensor and the cam sensor. The crank sensor is located on the passenger side of the engine block behind the starter. The starter will need to be remove to acces the sensor. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Thank you for using!

99 Jeep Cherokee Sport, 4.0L -won't start

you need to have it connected to an OBD2 machine and watch if you are missing the cam sensor showing RPMs
or if your missing crank sensors RPMs,
it could be a wiring problem or computer if your seeing the RPMs from both sensors, and the last thing i would check is hooking up a fuel gauge to the reed valve and watch what fuel pressure you have while cranking,if the cam sensor is the culprit it will turn the fuel off after the cranking.
