To install:
  1. Check that the mating surfaces of the clutch housing, engine rear and dowel holes are free of burrs, dirt and paint.
  2. Place the transmission on the transmission jack. Position the transmission under the vehicle, then raise it into position. Align the input shaft splines with the clutch disc splines and work the transmission forward into the locating dowels.

SOURCE: 1991 ford ranger wont start

I do believe the FORD is located under ther hood either on the firewall or on L/S wheel housing. Have encountered many , many faulty control modules. There came a time if you came across a Ford product with a no start, you automatically suspected it, and 90% of the time you were right.

SOURCE: 1991 Ford Ranger starts but stalla when in gear.

Is this an automatic transmission? If so, is sounds like the TCC (torque converter clutch) solenoid is bad, causing improper locking and unlocked of the TC under load causing the engine to stall. It works like putting your hand up to stop a ceiling fan blade. Replace this and you should be good as new.

Good luck!

Ford truck xlt ranger2.3 litter oil in throttle body ? good or bad

I found out with my old 94 Ranger 2.3L that the oil breather does not have a filter element, which causes oil to "naturally" (as Ford puts it) accumulate in the throttle body and air intake hose. You can get an inline breather element at any parts store for a few bucks and install it on the breather line without harming anything, and this will stop. Cheers.

Ford truck xlt ranger oil in throttle body ? good or bad

The most common cause is too much pressure in the crankcase. It could be bad piston rings, or a problem with the PCV system. The engine is supposed to draw fumes from the crankcase into the intake and burn them, but the intake may be getting real oil instead of just fumes.

Could be a problem with the vent line for the crankcase - it connects thru the air cleaner box.

It is on the throttle body, on the other side from where the throttle cable attaches. It's a black sensor, with 2 screws holding it to the throttle body.
