GM eliminated the "dipstick", to check auto trans fluid level, the vehicle must be on a level rack, raised in the air, and a plug on the back of the transmission removed to check fluid level, key here is the vehicle has to be level for accurate reading.

I always star by lubricating the sensor with a spray lubricant or penetrating oil, then locate the wiring harness on the one you are changing since there are more than one; There is a tool that fits the sensor you may have to buy unless you can find one in your shop, by trying it on the new one you are using to replace the old one with., Turn it counter-clockwise gently until it breaks loose. Access may be a problem. Once you have the old one out, installation is the reverse. Adhere to torque specs. The location is usually on the exhaust manifold before and some after the catalytic conveter Some are located on the exhaust pipe after the manifold. Chevy cobalt has one located betweenthe engine and firewall just under the hood.

P0606 indicates Control module internal performance. GM is indicating of the replacement ECM. Once replacement is completed reprogramming the ecm is necessary. Locally a few auot parts stores can reflash the ECM.May want to check with a NAPA or Carquest for this otherwise dealer is probably the only option.
Notice: Control module damage may result when the metal case contacts battery voltage. DO NOT contact the control module metal case with battery voltage when servicing a control module, using battery booster cables or when charging the vehicles battery.
Reverse process for installation
