anybody have diagram or simple way of know what wires go where? There are 4 or 5 smaller wires with large hoops like they go on one of the large posts, plus the battery cable and starter cable.

thank you for your response but this didnt help. i looked a friends 87 bronco 2 and it had six smaller wires on the battery side along with the large cable going to the battery. i have 9 or 10 smaller wires to find a home for. several of them are tied together with hoop connectors.

On the solenoid the should be the letter B which stans for battery. One wire that comes from the battery should hoock there and all the others shuld hook on the other large post. You should have one small wire that comes from the switch that should hook to the S on the solenoid. Hope this helps,

No use what's in there, but have the engine de-carboned by a Ford dealer, or remove the octane adjust shorting bar located near the ignition module (retards timing 2 degrees), this will in most cases cure the issue unless there is allot of carbon in the cylinders. There are also methods of ing this de-carbon procedure at home, check on the internet for tips.

Make sure you are using a 12volt DC system in both units. It may sound simply but an AC sub may need an inverter. Also check grounds.

1999 Crown turned ignition switch to start - heard pop - no electrical power

If nothing works including the lights, something happened between the battery and the fuse box.
There are some fuseable links between the battery and the starter solenoid or between the solenoid and the fuse box.
I'd start with the battery cables and look for those fuseable link wires.

Why my 2007 police crown Vic won't shift out of

All 2000 and up vehicles utilize a Solenoid which is powered by depressing the Brake Pedal to allow the Shift Lever to be move from Park to any other position. Is the Shift Lever located on the Steering Column or the Floor? In either case typically the Solenoids used by Ford do occasionally go bad. I highly recommend having a certified technician replace the solenoid.

the new solonoid should have two large posts and two small posts.you cant screw up the installation of the wires on the large posts..........so try switching the wires from the one small post to the other small post..........(actually on most fords there is only one small wire)
