I repair mine last summer,

SOURCE: egr valve dodge durango

if this is a 4.7l engine, the valve is on the left rear of the intake. loosen the 8mm bolts that hold the egr intake tube to the egr valve, remove the egr bolts, disconnect wiring, remove valve and tube together, attach intake tube loosely to new valve, install new valve, tighten tube bolts to egr using a swivel socket, this is not a 5 minute job, so dont attempt unless you have some time and patience.

The EGR, or exhaust gas recirculation valve, takes inert exhaust gasses drawn from the exhaust system and reintroduces them into the combustion chamber through the intake manifold. This process lowers the peak combustion temperature and helps combat the formation of Nitrous Oxide (NOx) in the exhaust.

  1. Separate the intake ducts from the air cleaner assembly by loosening the retaining clamps and pulling the ducts away from the housing.
  2. Disconnect the vacuum line from the air cleaner assembly.
  3. Remove the wing nut that secures the air cleaner housing lid to the base.
  4. Remove both the air cleaner hosing lid and base.
  5. Locate the EGR valve. Look at the front of intake manifold. The EGR valve will be bolted to the intake manifold just in front of the carburetor.
I hope help you with this. Good luck.

Sevice engine soon light comes on due to egr valve on my 1995 Chevy S-10

egr valves start to clog with carbon on the valve and cause -loss of power -hesitation-stalling -hard start -problems u may get lucky by unbolting it and cleaning the egr valve with a carb cleaner and checking the valve seat that it working when u remove it also check the spring [not broken or filled with carbon ]if the unit is unable to be cleaned or repaired replace an egr problem can leave u stuck

I have a 1995 dodge ram 3500 and it has lost its pulling power. It seems like either the turbos are not kicking in and I was told by mechanic that my pump needs to be recalibrated. Does anyone know what...

so you have a mechanical p7100 injection pump. That probably doesnt need anything done to it, provided the rest of your driving experience is pretty normal. You can adjust the timing, but that probably won't dramatically change your power.
If you dont have much power at speeds, the turbo, wastegate, or even EGR valve could be to blame.
