Audi tt leaking clutch fluid

My 2004 Audi TT s clutch started staying down tonight. I stopped,found the brake flood tank for clutch,noticed it was low and topped it up immediately.On pumping the air out,next moment it stayed down and wouldnt go back up again.Checked under the car and there was alot of brake floud on ground,with the tank still full. Now,offcourse there is no clutch.It is completely wet under the bleeding nipple,but the bleeding screw is closed.Pease advice where to start fixing?

I am by no means a car expert. My experience is based only on past experience not just with my 2003 audi tt but other cars as well.

What you describe may be your transmission slipping. You should have it checked out asap before you need to have the flywheel cut--I had that happen on another car and it was very expensive to have repaired.

My tt also has some brake problems which cause it to stutter when I get close to a full stop.

The best of all though is the recall of our cars for replacment of the timing belt--according to my dealer a $1700 job.

It is in the end of the dash board. open the drivers door so you can see the end of the dash and ease the semi circle shaped cover off. There is a fuse pulling tool in there too ;o

I would suggest you check oil levels etc. Generally these cars suffer from the air mass meter / air sensor problems aswell as coil problems too. Did you ever get a solution to the problem?

It is probably either the N75 valve(Diverter Valve) or the wastegate actuator. Usually a significant boost leak will set a DTC, still check all hoses and clamps.

A bad wastegate actuator or flap would cause no boost but not necessarily the air-sound.

Air Bypass Valve: Testing and Inspection
With Generic Scan Tool
Wastegate Bypass Regulator Valve, Checking
Recommended special tools and equipment e.g.:
- VAG1526 multimeter or VAG1715 multimeter
- VAG1594 connector test kit
Test sequence
- Switch ignition off.
- Disconnect connector at solenoid valve for boost pressure regulation.

Specified value: 25...35 Ohm
If specified value is not obtained:
- Replace Wastegate Bypass Regulator Valve -N75-.

Exhaust Bypass Valve: Testing and Inspection
With Generic Scan Tool
Recirculating Valve For Turbocharger, Checking
NOTE:
Valve opens between connection to intake manifold and connection to deceleration shut-off valve with no voltage. Connection to vacuum
reservoir is closed.
Test sequence
- Switch ignition off.
- Disconnect connector from Recirculating valve for turbocharger -N249-.

Specified value: 27...30 Ohm
If specified value is not obtained:
- Replace Recirculating valve for turbocharger -N249-.
If specified values are obtained:
- Connect test box to control module wiring harness, connect test box for wiring test.

1a741bd.jpg - Check wire between test box socket 105+2-pin connector terminal 2 for open circuit according to wiring diagram.
Wire resistance: max: 1.5 Ohm
- Also check the wire for short circuit to B+ and Ground (GND).
If no malfunctions are found in wire:
- Check wire between 2-pin connector terminal 1 and the Fuel Pump (FP) Relay -J17- for open circuit according to wiring diagram.
Wire resistance: max: 1.5 Ohm
If no malfunctions are found in wires:
- Replace Engine Control Module (ECM).

To test the wastegate, locate the wastegate linkage rod and verify that there is no play and that it is closed. You can apply compressed air to the actuator to see if it opens and closes. (not more than 30 psi)

Sounds like it could be brake rotors or brake pads...inspection of the same would be warranteed.

What would cause loud idling sound , jerking motion and unresponsive brakes to a 2001 audi tt (manual transmission) after adding brake fluid?


loud idling may be higher rpm's and unresponsive brakes point to a vacuum leak in the power booster hose that will run very clos to the reservoir.

hi, i'm pretty sure that you do have a combo brake/clutch system on the same reservoir. sounds like the brake fluid is low, when you take turns and the brake light goes on, that usually means low fluid sloshing away from internal reservoir sensor. audi and vw take DOT 4 brake fluid only, not DOT 3. You should fill to max level on the brake reservoir(located in front of the drivers seat/steering wheel in the engine compartment) and yes, take it to a professional shop, there maybe other problems in the brake/clutch system in need of inspection. hope i could help.

Is it possible to get fumes in the cabin of an Audi TT convertible - I notice after long journeys, in excess of 100 miles I often feel nauseous?


if you are driving in the open and you have your hood down it would be unlikely for fumes to come out and stay in the car. if your hood is up check your exhaust pipes

Help..where to put clutch fluid in 01 tt


Your hydrolic clutch fluid resivor is usualy located next to your master cyllender, where you put your brake fluid in. It is usualy a small round plastic container with a screw cap on it located near the master.
