Question about 1988 Ford F 150
This is what is called a C6 trans. On the side of the trans the is a 4 inch circle with a snap ring in it. Take the snap ring out and tap the circle easy and it should pop right out. There is a adjustment bolt with a lock nut on it. Loosen the lock nut and turn the adjustment bolt one turn any more and it could damage ya trans. Lock the lock nut back down and test drive. If it is doing the same as before then ya trans needs to be rebuilt. If not ya golden.
