Will 1995 cavalier knock sensor work in 1997 cavalier?

I have knock sensor from 1995 Cavalier and want to know if it can work on a 1997 Cavalier. Both have one wire. If I make the wire fit will it work the same?

Yes they are the same and work the same. You will just have to buy one for a 95 if you ever need another one.

I have a 1997 cavalier.. and got the diagnostic test.. says that o2 sensor.. got it fixed. then it started reading knock sensor and cam sensor... why are all these sensors supposedly bad..??? can anyone...
you'll have to take it to a parts store (O'Reily's/Advance/Auto Zone/etc...) they can do a scan for codes that will usually tell what the problem is, the scan should be free (unless they are a service/parts then there's likely a charge). more often than not, it's something like an O2 sensor, but it's worth also checking your fuel cap to see if the rubber seal is bad or heavily cracked, maybe just readjusting it will fix it (if it's a vapor leak).
