White smoke from air vents while ac was on,greasy film on window while defrost is on/heater coil?

Yes. The heater core is leaking bad. The white smoke is the coolant and steam. Be sure to add water to the radiator before you burn up the engine.

I have a 1998 toyota camry and have a slight film that builds up on the inside of the windshield.

been toyota tech for over 20yrs and what i have learned from the factory is that it is either from people that smoke,or if you or the previous owner ever used any kind of dressing to make it shine or just to clean it that over a period of time it soaks into the dash pad and when in the sun it will draw a greasy film out of it and cause this problem......i have also seen where there is a slight leak in the heater core but you can usually smell it and it is real greasy and hard to get off......hope that this info was helpful and if you could let me and fixya know if i was able to help you and a thumbs up would be appreciated........thanks and have a blessed day and if i can give you anymore info let me know......

2004 dodge stratus, heater blows cold. flushed and filled and replaced thermastatestill blows cold. how do i know for sure if it is the heater core?

Remove both heater hoses from motor. Put your garden hose in one end and tape on securely with the other end pointing in a direction the water flow from it will not hit distributor or other vital electronics. Turn on hose - If water come out of heater core at same rate as you are pumping it in then your heater core is flowing - if not then your core is blocked or plugged. Be mindful - if the core is plugged the water will break the seal of the garden hose and heater hose, spraying everywhere, so turn the water on low to check and be ready to shut off quickly!!

When i turn on the fan/heat there is a sweet smell and white smoke spraying inside the vehicle, also making the windshield greasy and abstructing view?

Your heater core has failed. Either disconnect both heater hoses and connect them to each other with a short piece of pipe, or have it replaced right away before you overheat the engine from coolant loss.

1999 gmc suburban has water loss

Good chance that it will be a bad heater core if your floor boards are getting wet, but has the inside of your windshield been fogging up. Most of the time when a heater core goes bad, the inside of the windshield fogs up. If the leak is not that bad, you can add 2 to three table spoon of common kitchen black pepper. The Black pepper will work it's way to the leak and plug it up till your can have it repaired properly and the black pepper will clean up easily when the cooling system get's flushed. Good luck and this should by you some time so you can work on it in the summer. Don't use any radiator stop leak, they just make a mess to your cooling systems water ways.

Windows wont defrost gives off a bad smell and make windows look greasy

Hello m_howard.
This is a classic case of a leaking heater core.
Coolant is leaking out and being blown up on your windshield and the vapors inside the car.
Unfortunately it will need to be replaced.
A heater core will be about $80.00 and about 6 to 7 hours labor to replace according to the time/labor guide.More time may be required if your Marquis has air conditioning.
May be a good idea to get a couple of estimates first.
If you have more questions, leave a comment and I will reply.

It isn't heating correctly and i smell antifreeze. How do I check and replace a heater core in it?

If your heater core was leaking you would have antifeeze coming thru your vents and putting a greasy film on your windshield. You would smell antifreeze the stongest if it was leaking onto a hot engine part. low antifreeze will cause bad heater performance, I would check by the thermostate housing, and the water pump for leaks
