The cougar runs hot and i dnt knw why?

Coolant level ok? Do the fans work? Is the coolant flowing properly in the radiator? Are the radiator fins full of bugs and dirt, restricting airflow? Is the radiator cap building the proper pressure in the system? Check these items, and let us know what you find.

Radiator Fan will not come on. Fuse is good and the fan is new. I have power to the fan.

you need to replace the radiator fan relay. located bottom right of the picture shown in above link

the relay is on the drivers side just below the headlight. you have to jack the car up to see it. it's bolted to the body with 2 8mm bolts. that is you have to use 8mm socket. It's black and about two inches square. It's a little hard to see but it is there. hope this helps leave comment.

Thermostat has been changed, radiator cooling fans wont kick on and the car still over heats. we checked the fuses and wiring and the fans run when direct connected to the battery. what next?

there is probly a fan sensor mounted on the block, and a lead that will go to the brain box or relay,if you have relay.check that also.hope this helps

when the fan is not working that means one of three things. first check to see if you have voltage going to the fan. second check to see that the fuses and fan relay are good. third if the connections are good and you have voltage it could be the temp sensors for the fan are bad. one last thing with the engine off check that the fans free spin and are not locked up.
