SOURCE: Brake pedal will go all the way to the floor

make sure brake fluid is full. then pump brakes for one minuite check the fluid to see if it went down or stayed full. if it went down then check the system for a leak . if it stays full then you will need a new mastercylender . i dont think you have a vacum problem cause this causes a verry stiff brake pedal not one that goes to the floor

SOURCE: brake pedal dropping to floor

do u have the antilock brake bleeding tool? if not you will need to have the dealer bleed the brakes, the ABS control valve must be electricaly held open to bleed the brakes there of course is a special tool for this.

My 1995 manual mazda astina horn keeps beeping when i step on the brake? The clutch seems to be sinking into the floor. Are these related and how do i stop my car beeping at innocent people?

Hi, it sounds like you have air getting into your clutch slave cylinder as thats what causes the pedal to sink to the floor when you have air in the system . As for the horn your brake pedal could be touching a bare horn cable that must be some were on the car floor or outside the car . You will have to check inside and out side for a bare wire next to the brake pedal.

I have a 1994 bonneville that you have to push brake pedal to floor and fluid empties within 1 day. Is it the master cylinder or the line?

check all brake lines and wheel cylinders for leakage. if no leaks its probably the master cylinder. symtoms are-- pedal will sink to floor when stopping or not. or master cylinder leaks from behind "it", and runs down brake booster. if booster goes bad the pedal will be very hard! good-day !

1999 GMC Yukon, Do I need to replace the stop light switch if my brake lights only come on when I push the pedal real hard to the floor. I have already replaced the brakes and did a new brake booster. Is...

Sounds like you are on the right road with the switch. Before I bought a new switch I would locate the switch, it will come in direct contact with the brake pedal arm, and see if there is an adjustment or if it has moved for some odd reason. Sometimes things just happen.

I have a 2001 Volvo V70 T5, that has a hissing sound when the brake pedal is depressed. Any ideas on checks I can do, before replacing brake booster. I am mechanically inclined.

Hi,
Start your Volvo up push you break pedal down, shut your Volvo off with the break pedal down. If the booster is good the pedal should NOT go towards the floor board. It should hold in place.
If the pedal moves towards the floorboard the booster is leaking.

I have recently had the front nearside brake replaced

sounds like you need to take it back to the mechanic and tell him this. then tell him to fix it correctly or pay for another shop to fix the problem. it seems that he is not getting it bleed correctly.

Squishy brake feel with long pedal travel but brakes stop the car

You have to remove the air trapped in the hydraulic system. Look at change of brakefluid in a repair handbook and perform it as described.

Useful to change the brakefluid at least once every five years anyway.

Break pedal preasure

The first thing would be to check the brake fluid level. If you are not low on fluid, it probably is a sign of your master cylinder needing replaced. As the rubber seals on the master cylinder piston wear, they eventually let fluid pass by, letting the brake pedal sink.
