SOURCE: 2005 Pacifica check engine light spit out this

This is an EGR code and it is generally caused by the EGR passages being carboned up and not allowing proper flow to the valve. I would remove the EGR valve and inspect the passages and clean them if necessary before I went any further.

Check all hoses and fittings from evap back to fuel tank. On 1post in pacifica world the prob was solved by dropping the fuel tank and replacing the fitting on one of the fuel pumps. Then clear the code and hopefully doesn't come back.

I have a 2005 cobalt 2.2L. P0240 keeps coming up! I have changed the cat and both 02 sensors! And the codes still comes up! One day I ran some injector cleaner in the fuel tank and cleared the code and it...

code p0240 refers to manifold absolute pressure(MAQP) sensor B TC system--range /performance problem===causes---intake/exhaust leak---hose connections--MAP sensor
Check the exhaust system for leaks especially around the manifolds and gaskets. Check all vacuum hoses for leaks. Finally replace the MAP sensor. Run code reader to reset the CPU

Check engine light comes "on"

OK, If I understand your question correctly, Your Check Engine light is coming on and you are getting a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0240 and we are talking about a 2000 Honda Civic DX with a 1.6L engine? If this is not correct, please let me know.

DTC P0240 is not a valid code for the vehicle listed above. Are you sure we are not talking about DTC P0420? If this is the case, then your catalytic converter is not working and most likely will need to be replaced. If you previously had fuel system problems, this is what most likely destroyed your catalytic converter - especially if the vehicle was driven fo some time with the fuel system problem. It is VERY common for this code to come up after other engine performance problems have been repaired. The reason for this is because the computer will not run the catalyst monitor if there are other problems in the ignition or fuel systems. So as long as these other problems exist, the computer has no idea what the condition of the catalyst is. Once the other problems are fixed, then the catalyst moitor will run. If the computer finds that the catalyst has been damaged and is not performing as designed, it will set DTC P0420.

Check engine light came on on my 1998 Honda Accord and gave a p0240 code. What does this mean?

P0240 code is related to faulty catalytic converter.It has to be checked and replaced. Located at the front of your exhaust line. To get this part you can get it from the online stores dealing with honda car parts. click on the link below to order the part if required.---------------

I have a 2007 Pacifica and the check engine light came on and a code PO 420. What does that mean?

P0420 is catalytic converter efficiency code. This code usually requires the PCM being reprogrammed or the catalytic converter replaced, sometimes both. How many miles are your pacifica? Emissions control equipment should be covered by an 80k / 8 year warranty.

Error Code P0240 on 2001 Ford Windstar

The catilytic convertor is at fault and needs replacing.
Have it checked first for a 02 sensor can throw this code as well. If the convertor is turning red on the outside it is junk status. Also the engine will sound like its starving for fuel

2oo5 Chrysler pacifica touring wife has the car and i am 800 miles away from the manual she says a warning light is on right under the rpm dial anyone know what it is?

4that looks like your engine management light, it will have to be taken to a garage with the correct diagnostic equipment to be able to tell her what has a fault as this is done by codes and a special diagnostic system..heres ahttp://www.motortrend.com/cars/2005/chrysler/pacifica/photos/interior/gauges.html link to a picture that shows the light, hope this helps

Wondering what the error code we were told means

First, the check engine light just means you are not meeting emissions right now. Not a big deal. Try disconnecting the battery for 1/2 hour and then reconnect and drive car for 10 miles. It may run rough while it relearns you engine controls again but it often clears the codes.

Now, codes are only 5 digits so I assume the 2 is extra.
P0420 = catalyst efficiency below threshold (bank 1)
P0240 = can't find this code.

Autozone also does free scans. please rate for me, thanks
