Removed two bolts from starter and cannot get starter out heard may be extra support bolts but cant locate

I had a Toyota with an odd-ball starter bolt from the back side of where the starter mounted. It didn't even look like a starter bolt, but sure enough, it was. So keep checking, you may have a third bolt you haven't found.

Remove starter 1997 gran marquis

Good luck! Three 10mm bolt hold the starter in place. you can see two of them, but the third is on top, and will seriously test your patience and exorcise your vocabulary. I have been successful in removing the starter solenoid while the starteris still in the car, which allows you some clearance to remove the third bolt. Otherwise, the exact length combination of socket and extentions on a 1/4" drive ratchet is required over the top of the starter. Make sure you disconnect the battery before you begin.

How to put in a starter on a 1993 mercury marguis

get a lift
buy a new or rebuilt starter
drive the car onto the lift
disconnect the negative battery cable
put the car up in the air
disconnect the wiring from the starter, use your cell phone camera to take a picture before removing the wires
take the top and bottom bolts out which hold the starter to the bell housing
pull starter out and down
put new starter in and put bolts back in
look at cell phone picture and reconnect wiring the same way
let car down and reconnect battery
you are done

How to remove starter from 1993 mercury sable

Before removing the starter for repair or replacement, check the condition of all circuit wiring for damage. Inspect all connections to the starter motor, relay, ignition switch, and battery, including all ground connections. Clean and tighten all connections as seen fit.

Also keep in mind that the heavy gague input lead to the starter solenoid is hot at all times. Be careful to ensure the protective cap is installed over the terminal and replaced after service.
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

Note: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal driveablilty symptoms may occur while the PCM relearns its adaptive strategy. It usually take about 10 miles of driving to relearn it, so take it easy.

2. Raise and safely support the vehicle.

3. Disengage the starter cable and the push-on connector from the starter solenoid.

4. Remove the upper and lower retaining bolts, then remove the starter motor from the vehicle.

5. Position the starter motor to the engine , then install the upper and lower retaining bolts finger tight.

6. Tighten the retaining bolts to 15-20 ft. pounds.

7. Engage the starter solenoid connector, making sure to push straight on until it locks into position, you will hear it click.

8. Install the starter calbe nut to the starter solenoid B terminal. Tighten the nut to 80-120 in. pounds, then install the red starter solenoid safety cap.

9. Lower the vehicle, then connect the negative battery cable.

How do I replace the starter on my 1993 chevy?

Disconnect the negative cable from the battery..
Under the front end - find the starter near where the trani connects to the motor and the really big gear (flywheel) is..
Undo 2 bolts to remove the starter.. take the wires off and be sure to put the wires on the starter the same way..
Connect the wires to the new starter and put the starter in with the to bolts.. The starter will only go in one way so you cant mess up how it goes in..

Good luck !

Where is the starter located on a 1993 mercury sable engine

trace the big cable that came from the positive terminal of your battery. at it's end is the starter.

or if it passes trough a big relay, then there is another big cable from that relay that would go down to the side of the engine, either left or right, that would be the starter.

tnx 4 using fixya,
