Hi Fatima, Have the intake ducts checked for any breakage and make sure all vacuum tubes are fitted correctly and not broken or loose. Also have a diagnostic scan carried out on the vehicle to determine if there any faults recorded. Regards John

SOURCE: vw sharan timing belt change?

your getting close to a change, especially if its a belt and not a chain. i know friends that had there belts changed out anywhere from 60k to 90k. Chains can go about twice as long as a belt. i you kept this car up on it servicing and dont abuse it. i"d say it"ll last till at least 70k.

My 2001 VW Beetle GLS is showing kilometers. How

Normally you need to replace the speedometer. Is it driven by a cable or is it electric/digital? There are suppliers that provide speedometers with miles and kilometers both available as a option, such as one bought in Germany to American specs purchased in Germany for reshipment to US, commonly available in instances where a tourist want a car to pick up in Germany, drive for awhile, the ship back to US.

Is 160 miles good on a 2001 beetle

2001 beetles have all kinds of problems. worst vw ever. look on this site for beetle problems and you will see. I wouldn't buy any beetle. 160miles its almost at the scrap yard.

VW beetle new CD player draining battery! I recently bought and installed a new CD player to my 2001 vw beetle. Previous was factory tape player. After a week of new player battery drained completely.

Did you find a solution? If not reconnect the power wire to either ignition or accessory, this way when the key is taken out there will be no power at the radio

I just bought a 2000 beetle turbo ,it has 70,000 miles on it the person which I bought it from has kept really good care of the car ,what should I consider doing to it maintance wise , since it just turned...

first thing on a turbo, do an oil change using full synthetic oil. If you can, plan on replacing plugs and plug wires, replace antifreeze, and check brake linings. VW Beetles are tough to work on (little room), and it would also be a good idea to check hoses and belts, cleaning the engine.

It should make it to atleast 100K with conservative shifting and a decent level of parity between highway and city miles.

Hi . The fuel filters are fitted (For life if petrol) and every 40,000 miles for diesels . But if needed the petrol ones are under the right hand side rear near the fuel tank and have quick release couplings on them . and the Diesels are in the engine bay either side depending on engine type and confuration . 2001 VW Beetle Will not start

Hi.
Check the heavy duty cables from the battery to the starter motor and solenoid and also the battery earthing (grounding?) - there terminals could be corroded / burned.

Hope this helps you a bit. If it does, a "Fixya" rating would be much appreciated. If it doesn't
help you, I'd be grateful if you didn't bother with a rating at all. Just come back and tell me what you found. Cheers, D
