Question about 1998 Nissan Pathfinder
When exiting the vehicle I lock the doors either manually with the master lock switch on the drivers door or with the key. Don't have the wirless clicker any more. When I unlock the door (any door) the alarm goes off. It will keep alarming until I hit the master lock switch from the drivers door to lock/unlock. Then alarm stops. Factory installed alarm original equipment. This just started about a month ago and I have owned the vehicle for 8 years. Any ideas on what would cause this?

SOURCE: How to disarm car alarm
Most security systems on vehicles have a small single pole throw type switch located under the dash board area on the drivers side, whatever direction you find the switch set in flip the switch to the opposite side to disarm the alarm, this is called putting the alarm in a passive or valet type mode until you can have the whole system checked by a certified alrm install facility that deals with the type alarm you have in your vehicle.

Opening the trunk with the key (not the valet key) will shut off the alarm.
Can't offer help on permanently disabling the alarm.
