Starting issue on my 06 chevy colorado

When I insert the key to start..all dash lights come on and the chimes sound as normal. When I turn the key to starting position every thing goes dead except for a intermintent and faint on ond off buzz somewhere behind the dash. If I remove the battery leads and clean them, It seems ok again until I engage the starter and it goes dead. I checked my year old battery with my charger and the charger read 60%. I did a recharge and it charged up to normal 100% charge.I tried again and it did the same thing. Where should I start checking at?

OK..I worked on the truck today.. I cleaned all the grounding points I could find.(how many ground points are there on 06 colorado?)..Recharged the battery to 100%..cleaned and tightened battery terminals...She started right
up. Must have been a grounding issue.. I have read that these trucks have had a history with faulty grounds..Thanks all..

SOURCE: I have a 2002 Honda

Ok so that wasn't it. Three days later problem came back. Replaced battery cables. Problem goes away for another few days. Came back again and found what I think is finally it. Engine Cut Out Relay in the power distribution box. (of note the expert told me there were no relays in the ignition system) Although the local auto parts store's computer said they did not carry this relay, I took it in anyway and they matched it up with one off the shelf. $7.50 and I am running good as new. Hope this helps some of the rest of you. Also, the wiring schematic in the back of the Haynes manual was also an invaluable assist on this one.

What could be the problem with a 2006 chevy colorado that has ignition starting issues?

everything you mention indicates a failing starter motor. Pull it and have it bench tested by an accredited auto electrician as they can be repaired if the failure is not to bad.

06 pontiac grand prix wont start no clicking when you turn the key over even jump starting the battery, has dash lights & radio & parking lights. battery tested good. put a used starter & altinator on

Used parts such as starters and altinators don't last. It might **** but it sounds like you need to buy a new starter, altinator, and battery. Or just start with buying one at a time.

2006 chevy colorado passlock comes on and stays on, truck won't start for 10+ min. Can I disable this feature?

No, it can not be disabled.
The theft system is indicating a short term theft issue.
Have you added any "after market" remote start systems or alarms?
If NO.
Insert the key in the ignition, turn the key to run position ( do not start ) and leave it in that position for 10 minutes. Cycle the key to LOCK position, count to 10, then turn the key back to run position and leave on for 10 more minutes. After the 10 minutes is up, repeat the procedure (1) more time and the security system will relearn the PASS code.
Give it a try and let me know.
