SOURCE: how to adjust clutch brake on a eaton 2800 series

This is from http://refrigeratedtrans.com/mag/transportation_replace_original_equipment/

"A good clutch adjustment begins by identifying the location of the bearing. It should be positioned 1/2" to 9/16" from the clutch brake."

"After the bearing is set, adjust the truck linkage to allow the clutch brake to squeeze a .010" feeler gauge between the bearing and clutch brake when the pedal is no more than 1" to 1.5" from the floor. Setting the clutch brake position too far from the floor reduces the stroke to the clutch and could cause release problems and reduce brake life.
All that remains is checking the free-pedal distance in the cab. With the pedal in the up position, there should be 1" to 3" of free pedal. The clutch is now adjusted correctly."

How to Install a new eaton 2104-20892561 clutch on a Mack Ch613

It\'s the same for all CH models and then some ,do you have the old one out ? I will look for you, I have done a lot of them ,I\'m going to ask a few questions so bear with me , ok ? ,do you have a pilot shaft or can borrow one ? for aling clutch ,and a big tranny jack , did you remove or have motor out or are you just removing tranny. ? it\'s all just really heavy it\'s a 2 person job no dough, but for the most part same as a car or truck, OTC makes a clutch installing tool to hold the two clutch plates and two pressure plates , hard part is putting throw out bearing in and holding clutch lever all the way back so it can fall in and don\'t forget to put clutch brake on shaft, if using 1 piece unit, aftermarket ones break down to easy (crap) but you can put it in after an adjust it when adjusting clutch for first time .hope this gets you going ,get back to me and I\'ll do my best to get info for you or a place for you to get it hope this helped .

Re position the clutch point so that it has less than 1/4 inch clearance from engaging the clutch throwout bearing

Or the clutch fork has fallen off the thowout bearing on assembly

2000 camero clutch problem . Clutch has to be all the way to the floor to disengage and then engages the second I let up. 6 cyl 5 speed

now please excuse my ignorance here as i have nver worked on one so i do not know if its a cable clutch with a automatic adjustment or a hydraulic clutch with a external slave cylinder or with a internal slave cylinder ,the reason i state this is that its possible to adjust some clutches and others you cannot so if your not sure ask a local mechanic recomended to you to have a look and see .

Gear getting stuck hard to change gears

Hello your looking at a clutch most likely if your gears are not enjoying this means clutch is at adjustment end these clutches are self adjusting and hydraulic and the clutch slave cylinder is internal on the transmission spleen. So you will eventually not be able to get your vehicle to go in gear,Also your clutch master cylinder the fluid level should be checked most times these leak internal causing the clutch plate to become wet ounce that happens time to change it.The best advise would be to take it in to a transmission shop hoist it up you will need a hoist to further inspect quotes are free and maybe get two separate quotes on the job this is a big job even for a qualified mechanic.

DON'T THINK CLUTCH CAN BE ADJUSTED ON THESE I WOULD THINK REPLACING CLUTCH ON THESE ARE BETWEEN £300-£400 AT A GARAGE.
