SOURCE: renault megan scenic dti diognostic fault codes

whats else do you expect ,snap on code reader your having a laugh .YOU HONESTLY EXPECT TO READ A RENAULT ???????????????WITH ENCRYPTED SOFTWARE .sounds like an ECU problem but it could be something simple on the fuel injection system but without hearing the noise to know if its air in pump or an electrical buzz .check fuel IN line for ingression of air first ,also check for return in case its blocked causing the pressure to build up to high .call a scrapyard then report vehicle stolen and make a claim .this is a renault remember its designed to be dealer only repairs not weekend mechanics

SOURCE: checking the fault codes

Yes.  Next to the ash tray there is a black slide off plate that reveals the OBD I plug.  {1996 and newer can be read with an OBD II reader (read for free at Advance auto or Auto Zone)}  Once you reveal this plug on the 1995, you can plug in a single jumper wire (or even a paper clip) in the #4 and #15 pin hole.  There are two rows of pin holes, count from the upper right to the #4, then on to #15 (which will be the second to last pin hole).  Turn the ignition switch on (motor not running), insert the jumper wire for about 3 to 5 seconds, then remove the wire.  The ENGINE LIGHT will flash a hold, then the code, which will go something like this, flash, flash, PAUSE, flash, flash, PAUSE, flash, PAUSE, flash, flash, flash, flash.  Then it will repeat the codes if you just sit there and observe it.  The code in my example would be a 2214 code.
Below are some code I found on a website.  I hope this helps.  Now I ask that you take the time to answer someone elses question.  Lets all share.  Good luck, "Peace through power and knowledge"

SOURCE: A4 1.8 02 plate - fault code p01297 - runnung poor

Code P1297(Connection turbocharger - throttle valve pressure hose) is related to air delivery to the engine. Unfortunately there is many components that could caused this code. For 1.8 engine the most common places to look for:
Check for damaged vacuum lines, next check over-bust valve(located in the intake hose) if holding vacuum, than I would check intake hose itself for damage or leaks. Some times broken throttle body can cause that fault (idle fluctuation). Lastly if car lack of power- damaged turbocharger can cause insufficient intake pressure.

Hi:
I am pretty sure that fault code P0698 is for your throttle position sensor, or accelerator position sensor. Often, as this fails, you can clear the code, and it will come back on during throttle movement.

My vauxhall frontera v6 3.2 started to switch off while driving. it also shows the abs light all the time what could be the problem?

1. The ABS light is showing because there is a problem with the anti lock braking system and the system has been shut down. Until the problem is identified and fixed the warning light will continue.
The vehicle needs to be scanned with the correct scan equipment for ABS systems to identify the fault codes that are being generated. It may be that
one or more of the sensors has failed and need replacing. The scan will identify that.

2. As with 1 above, the cut out problem also requires your car to be scanned for fault codes relating to the engine operation. Until the vehicle is properly scanned, the fault codes determined and their cause identified, you will be very much operating in the dark.

Your dealer has all the correct and latest diagnostic equipment where others may not so I suggest you take the car to your dealer and have it analysed. It may be just one issue or more than one.

Vauxhall Astra 1.8 Sri turns over not starting brake lights jammed on coil pack seems ok no fault codes in system

Ok may be more than one fault here
Firstly the brake lights may be down to a fulty brake light switch
this is under the brake pedal.
Secondly the Starting issue could be several things
Fuel cut off switch engaged
Faulty spark plugs
Sticking/faulty starter motor
Fuel filter blocked (common reason for non starting and doesent give a fault code).
Fuel pump faulty or faulty/loose wiring at pump
Unlikley to be anything to do with the ecu as it turns over and no fault codes.

My 2007 ford transit loses power and then cuts out

I have a 2.4 diesel 375 nm model and i have been told that the problem is solved by installing the correct fuel filter. Mine loses all power and stops, and the curly light comes on, and I switch it off and start it again. It works every time but is bloody dangerous on a hill when passing someone and towing a trailer.
