507 is a catalytic converter code that the computer throws when the oxygen level is below 95% of max. Altima's don't generally have that issue so i would lean more towards an 02 sensor. usually its the upper 02 sensor. start there.

code P0507 is:: idle control system RPM higher than expected

P300, p507 codes on my 1998 vortec 5.0 litre silverado engine

Well code 300 is for a random cylinder miss, and code 507 is for a problem with the idle air control valve.
The computer controls idle speed by regulating the amount of air entering the intake thru the control valve. Code 507 is saying the engine is running too fast at idle. It could be a faulty valve or a vac leak among other things.

My check emgine light is on and the code that comes up is 507 how do I fix it

A P0507 DTC trouble code is set when the actual idle speed is higher that than the desired idle speed set in the computer. I would be checking for a vaccum leak because that can easily cause the engine to idle higher than usual. Aside from that you could have a malfunction in the electronic throttle control or the Engine computer but thos are less likely. As far a vacuum leak goes sometimes a hissing noise can be heard, Inspect all the rubber hoses for cracks or splitting and also check the intake hose after the air cleaner for any leaks. Hope this helps and good luck.

My check engine light is on and code 507 is saying RPM too high how do I fix that.

Sometimes the idle air control valve will stick if the car has been sitting. You can remove the hose to it, spray some carb cleaner in there and work the valve back and forth with either your fingers or a screwdriver. (it's a rotary valve)

Failing that, you'll need a new one, or you have an unmetered air leak somewhere.
I think a bad TPS can also cause this code. It's like a potentiometer and can get "scratchy." You can check it with an ohmmeter. But my first guess is the idle air valve.

Service Engine Soon

That is pure nonsense. The PO 507 appears to be Idle Air Control System

Look over the car yourself

Make sure the Air Filter cover is on correctly and all duct work to the Throttle Body is in place and tight and you have no other vacuum hoses off.

You never need a Dealer. All you need is good professional scanner and up todate software.

Check engine light and trouble code P-507

Check around the air filter box to see if there is a vaccume line knocked of,there is a vaccume routeing sticker under the hood if you need help.I would take the car back to where you had it serviced and ask them for help if you can't find the problem on your own.
