Hi.

Technically, that's impossible. The heating system in your car gets its heat from the engine. If the engine is running, then it will generate heat and there's no stopping that. The only thing that would prevent the heat from getting into the air that's blowing into the car is if the air selector is set to "Recycle" instead of "Fresh".

So, look at the controls for the heater and be sure that the air selector is pulling air from the outside and into the car.

I hope this helps.

Heater core may be clogged. Remove inlet and outlet heater core hoses from the motor. Either air compressor or water from garden hose to back flush the heater core.

if that hot water ain't getting to the core it ain't technically impossible. may be a valve in the system not opening. my daughter has a normal temp and her heater ain't blowing but cold air.

your heater core is possibly stopped up if there has been a radiator leak and stop leak has been poured its definetly clogged or could be a faulty thermostat

My heater won't blow hot in my 2001 Jeep Cherokee

Does it leak any antifreeze on the floorboard or anywhere? Common problem with the jeep cherokee that the heater or A/C will cause it to leak and had to replace the whole unit.

Heater wont blow hot air and won't defrost windshield or passenger windows.

Make sure that your coolant level is up with no air trapped, but it's probably a weak water pump or clogged heater core. don-ohio
