The reason your car would start on gas then stop is because your gas converter( the big round thing on the drivers side near the exhaust) actually freezes and relies on the engine water temperature to thaw it out, when the motor gets hot, gas will flow again. There is also a fuse, from memory it is located at the top of the fuse box under the boot release
G'day amate , sounds like the gas 'converter' which turns the liquid into a gas that car can use is in need of repair, check the water hoses to it or is it freezing up ? either way its the only thing that usually can go wrong with a gas system, hope this helps
gheck gas tune,could be mixture,definately settings or pressure loss,making the system take a few seconds to start the car,get it looked at,not one for the novice,but is very fixable
