Question about 1994 Chevrolet Suburban
The latch is closed but the door is open so I can't close the door
Take a philips screwdriver in between where the latch grabs the part of your car its is a circular area and release the latch at the same time pull down on the screwdriver and it will pull the latch back in the correct position to be able to agai n latch to the cars part of the latch to grab to

In my case the latch mechanism was frozen. The best bet for that is to allow it to be heated; hair dryer or something then put WD40 or something on it until i get a new one

It should be a "V' or "U" shaped locking mechanism, that the bolt on the latch slides into. You will have to pull the handle, while taking a screwdriver and sticking it into the slot, and pushing down. The handle will release the lock, the screwdriver is just so you can put some elbow grease in to slide it down.

you need to remove the door trim. Remove linkage attached to latch. Usually the latch will be secured with 3-4 large phillips or torx screws. Remove old latch and reverse procedure to install new latch

Take the handle off the third door with the two screws and look up in there with a light and see if the arms are off or just whats going on.. Holler if you need more. Jerry
