SOURCE: the top of my 1999

The convertible top on my 1998 boxster would not work either, nor would the windows go down. If you have checked the fuse and it is fine, then it may be what I had experienced which is the switch located in the center console directly under the hand brake. There is a white plastic switch with a plunger on it that is engaged by the handbrake being raised. When the handbrake is engaged it activates the switch which then allows the convertible top to be activated. It's a $5.00 part, (I know, I couldn't believe it either) from the porsche dealer, and a very easy to do yourself job, it took me 10 minutes from start to finish. It would be worth spending the $5 and replacing it anyway, at least you could rule it out if it stll does not work you only spent $5 rather thank $140 an hour labor rate at dealer. Pop the side plastic panel under the hand brake on the drivers side and you will see the white plastic switch. Good luck.

Try replacing the battery in the key. It may be too weak to engage lock.

SOURCE: 1999 porsche boxster windows wont go up all the way

That problem appears to be in the top release. this is the thing at the top of the windshield that you release. Press the button inside of it to see if that may be the problem. it is the only thing that wouldn't let your windows go all the way up. The switch inside may have gone bad.

SOURCE: Hi I have a porsche

Might be the central locking system. Try using the key in the door (rather than the remote control) to deactivate the security system. Also make sure that the center console is completely closed (this is part of the central locking system).

Hello There

I think the best is to take the door panel off and see.
It is very posible that your micro switch is bad,or if you can see anything inside the door brokenon the door handle itself.

Window wont go up after door close

There is a switch in the mechanism for the handle for the soft top that detects whether it has been pulled. Normally when the switch is pulled, the windows lower about an inch. If, however, the switch is defective, the car thinks the handle is still pulled and will cause the windows to act strangely, lowering at odd moments or refusing to go all the way up. The switch itself is connected on two sides. It appears that pressure on the switch causes one side to come free causing an intermittent contact.
You can repair it yourself by removing the lenses for the infra-red sensors for the alarm, then using a T25 torx driver to remove that latch assembly cover. Unplug the three cables from it. Find the center of the plastic switch and a little slot where it is held in place. If you place something thin in the gap where the switch is attached, you will fix the problem.

How to install passenger window carrera cab 1999

I can't give you the play by play just in general. You got to find the hidden screws that hold the door panel on.(most likely under handles) there are sometimes hidden buttons that unsnap.I've seen the so called installers mess up on removals. After you get the door panel off ,remove the window glass held by glass clips epoxied in.Install glass put back on door panel.Electric windows get more complicated with tension / cables. My advise Man you got a Porsche bring it in get it done right.Good Luck.
