I will assume a 3.2 or 3.5L. The thermostat housing is located close to the oil filter (above and to the left, about 10 o'clock).

I am looking for the position of the thermostat for a 2000 Monte Carlo. I recently changed mine and the car is starting to overheat. I think I installed it in the wrong position (clock position like 6 and...

there are only two ways to install the thermostat. there are no clock positions . You can only install it right side up or upside down. What is important is that the spring side faces the engine . In other words this spring side goes in first, you shouldn't see the spring after you installed it, before installing the housing that hooks into the upper radiator hose.

Replaced cracked radiator in 2000 Chrysler LHS but car still overheating. What could be the problem?

fix the radiator first.because coolant temperature sensor need to be in antifreeze.when antifreeze get up to 190 degrees. the coolant sensor act as a resistance decrease then the pcm will command cooling fans to run.if antifreeze low the coolant temperature sensor not going to work. engine is going to over heat.

Replaced cracked radiator in 2000 Chrysler LHS but car still overheating. What could be the problem?

I had the same problem. My Chrysler LHS kept overheating. I had the thermostat changed out first and it didn't help. Then I had the water pump changed out and still did no good. Then changed out the radiator, still overheated. Come to find out the people that changed my thermostat put it in backwards. Evidently, the thermostats for these cars look different from all the others and people are not sure how to put them in. I took mine to a Chrysler dealer and they fixed it for me.

2000 chrysler concorde how do I find and replace thermostate ?

The best way to find the thermostat is to follow the lower radiator hose back to the engine where it ties into the thermostat housing.
You have to remove the accessory drive belt for the generator, then lift the vehicle to work from underneath, then remove the generator bolts and set it aside. Then remove the hoses from the housing. Then remove the housing and the thermostat.
Clean the sealing surface. Install thermostat with bleed hole at 12:00 oclock position. Install housing and tighten bolts to 105 inch-pounds (about 9 foot-pounds).

02 chrysler grand voyager limited 2.5 diesel thermostat problems

Hi there, this post if for everyone who wants to change the sealed thermostat on a Chrysler Grand voyager.

Firstly purchase a new unit from a dealer, mine cost me £115 plus vat and you will also need a gaskit for when you fit the new stat. I would also have a magnetic telescopic stick handy, buy one from halfords because you will need it trust me!! This is for when you drop the 10mm bolts down the engine and you will need to recover them. Very handy tool indeed

secondly you will need to drain the cooling system, you can partially drain off by disconnecting the top metal hose unions on the right hand side of the engine near the reservoir

Thirdly you will need to remove the bulkhead(wiper motor housing and wipers) at the base of the windscreen. You will now see the thermostat housing which is tucked away at the back of the engine and with the hoses attached. I have to say this is a dificult job and is hard to get at unless you remove the plastic bulkhead as described above.

Fourthy you will need to remove the hoses and jubilee clips carefully taking care not to split any of the large and small hoses.

Lastly there is a small nut holding the turbo hose and the diesel pipes to the housing, a small 10mm spanner and a lot of patience is required to remove this nut, then release the 3, 10mm bolts holding the thermostat to the cylinder head.

After cleaning ALL the old gaskit from the mating surface, check using a mirror then smear a little red hermetite onto the stat housing and cylinder head mating surface, fit the gaskit and then tighten the bolts up to 28nm aprox, you will know how tight to go without stripping the thread, you won`t be able to use a torque wrench because of innaccessibility Then in reverse order replace everything as described above as for removal.

Hope this helps, You will now have a car with a fully working heater and will also improve the mpg because the engine will reach optimum operating temperature rather quickly even in sub zero temperatures outside of the car.

Any further questions please post and I`ll try to answer them.
