Question about Cars & Trucks
Car over heated 2 days ago changed thermostat still getting hotter than usual losing water ound when car is hot pouring out of the overflow cant find any other leaks just want ideas on what to look for and what it might be thanks
The radiator is partially blocked, and heat transfer from water to air cannot be acheived, the radiator, if in good condition can be taken apart and the tubed cleaned, if the radiator is showing signs of fin deteriation, the whole thing must be replaced.

Did you say coolant is coming from the HVAC? as in the heater box?
If so does it smell sweet in the cab & do the windows fog up when you turn on the defrost with it set on hot?
If you answered yes to these three questions, chances are very good you need to replace you heater core.
If the coolant is coming out of the overflow tank as soon as the engine is running & you find one or more of your spark plugs are white or very much diferent than the others you most likely have a head gasket leak.
With the info you have included I would have to point my finger at the heater core though.
Good luck, hope this helps, Let me kn ow if you need more input.

SOURCE: heating problem
If you changed the thermostat yourself and have noted that the lower radiator hose is cooler than the upper radiator hose, you may have installed the thermostat incorrectly or have purchased a faulty thermostat. A lower radiator hose that does not get hot (or as hot as the upper radiator hose) is a direct indication of a faulty thermostat. Please vote for this solution if you found this to be helpful. Thanks,
