SOURCE: How do I program my key for my 2006 Chevy Impala?

Add Duplicate Key (PK3 or PK3+ key)
1. Insert an existing key into the ignition cylinder.
2. Turn the ignition cylinder to ON (RUN) and back to OFF.
3. Remove the existing key and, within fifteen seconds, insert the new key
and turn it to ON (RUN).
4. The security light will light up for two seconds to indicate success in programming
the key into the vehicle.
Originate New Master Key (PK3 or PK3+ key)

1. Insert new key into ignition cylinder and turn it to the ON (RUN) position.
The security light on the dash will illuminate and stay on for ten minutes.
2. When the security light goes out, you have one minute to start the next
step. Turn the ignition cylinder to OFF and then back to the ON (RUN)
position. The security light on the dash will illuminate and stay on for ten
more minutes.
3. When the security light goes out, you have one minute to start the next
step. Turn the ignition cylinder to OFF and then back on the ON (RUN)
position. The security light on the dash will illuminate and stay on for ten
more minutes.
4. After the security light has gone off the third time, the key has been programmed
into the vehicle’s computer and will operate the car. It has replaced ALL the
previous electronic key codes and is the ONLY key programmed into the
vehicle’s computer.

Add Duplicate Key (PK3 or PK3+ key)

Horn relay location 2006 chevy impala ss

I think it is under the hood, in the black fuse box. If not, look in your owners manual in the fuse and fuse box section.

Impala ss Firing Order and Cylinder Numbering 5.3L

I think the firing order on any GM V-8 is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2, #1 being the front cylinder on the drivers side and #2 will be the front one on the passenger side, then back to the drivers side for #3 and so on.

Is the serpentine belt diagram the same for a 2006 Chevy impala SS 5.3 as it is for a 3.9?

No, not even close. I have included belt routing diagrams for both. The first one should be the SS 5.3L which has a lot more pulleys.

Hope this helps. Good luck !duckfreak871.png duckfreak871_0.png

Dry burning smell coming from underneath the car

Could be something trapped between the catalytic convertor and heat shield  or exhaust.  It could be a plastic bag, tree branch or even a dead rodent !  If there is something there it needs to be removed ASAP before it has the chance to catch fire.
