Hi I am Vortash well as it requires spark to ignite the petrol compressed in the cylinders I would say .. YES lol thing to do is check if your coil is faulty or not the main lead to the distributor comes from the coil to the distributor cap pull the lead out from the cap .. place the lead somewhere you can see it clearly but no more that 1/2" away from an earthed point on the bodywork , ( Better if you can get a brave friend to do this ) and turn the engine over a few times if you get a spark to the earth that eliminates the coil as the fault .. In which case the most likey cause is the Rotor arm beneath the Distributor cap or the cap itself need replacing .. and if your doing that best to replace the leads also .. But if you did not get a spark from that first test it still may not be the coil .
however there it starts to get complicated and you do really need the Haynes Manual to guide you to the next steps .. for instance is it Points ie contact breakers or electronic CDi distributor .. see what I mean so I hope this has helped you , and remeber a lucas tune will probably find this fault in less than a minute so that may be worth your while if time is of an essence to you ... Regards Vortash

Problem with 1996 Suzuki Swift????????????????????? 2010 suzuki sx4 no spark on coil????????????????
SX4? (J20 suzuki engine?)
Japanese automaker Suzuki and Italian automaker FIAT
8 different engines used (world-wide), so post engine option.
usa 3: 2010
COILS:
on all coils?, (you posted 1996 and 2010 at same time)
and swift and SX4 at same time. my guess, is you piggybacked on the swift post with SX4 question, instead of starting a fresh new post?
The SX4 has, COPS are all 4 dead?
it has 4 coils, called COPS. or PACK WITH COILS INSIDE,

IN 2010 we had these optios, which one is yours?
yours is not diesel, as you stated spark. so... down to 2 engine.s
the 2010 model year, SX4 five-door hatchback is available with a 1.6 L DOHC VVT engine, 2.0 L DOHC VVT engine and 2.0 L DDiS diesel engine (16 valve, 135 PS (99 kW; 133 hp) with 320 N·m (240 lb·ft) torque) on the AWD version.
aka: J20A or J20B engines. the B has VVT cam.
my guess? is it's a Suzuki engine in a fiat body?

Suzuki swift gti 1996 starts but cuts out after 5 seconds

When starting/cranking, computer will activate fuel relay so that it will start. Once running there are fail safes built in - no oil pressure, bad signal from crank angle sensor or throttle position sensor, crash sensor activated (stops fuel pump) or even immobilizer faulty. Will it idle with Mass Air Flow sensor unplugged? Could be a broken wire or bad connector. Hope you have found problem by now! An auto electrician will find it very quickly.

I own a gti suzuki swift 1994 model. when i start my car it wont idel normal. and its not the sparke plugs i replaced them any ideas?

Sounds to me like you have a vacuum leak, they can be hard to track down but they cause a lot of engine problems.Inspect all the vacuum lines that you can find and replace all that have splits or bad ends on them and then recheck your performance.

My 89 GTi battery light came on and then the

If the alternator is bad, and it is cause battery light is on, the elec. system does not have enough power (voltage) for the system to work right, being that it's only working off the battery voltage till battery goes weak. Have an alternator check done or check voltage at battery with engine running, should have no less then 13.5 volt's.
