Have you checked for an exhaust restriction? Most garages and exhaust shops can perform a back pressure test for a minimal fee.

EGR Vacuum Solenoid, cavalier 1998 standard 2.2 lts.

I believe it is on the pass side of the head.(EGR) exhaust gas recirculator .it alows the engine to re burn left over fuel in the exhaust.unfortunately the pasage way gets cloged with carbon buildup causing egr failure.this is very hard to clean and should not be done by a novice DIY. some times SEAFOAM will clear it out if it is not compleatly cloged it is worth a try.

Check Engine Light on again after recently hanged oxygen sensor

undo battery for 30 minutes if doesnt clear take to advance or autozone have them read computer possible they will clear it but usually they wont but some of them guys will if not may have to take to garage to clear computer ,but possible have sticky valve after replacing oxygen sensor run seafoam thru it ,half in oil and half in gas and half can thru vacuum off brake booster ,there is video on utube on how exactly how to use seafoam that way

P 0401 code "Insufficient Airflow" STILL!! 1996

the exhaust path there must be clear
end to end, its NOT air that is EGR fail for exh. flow, for EGR only.
which engine, ?????
no 2 engines made use the same flow.

I use seafoam though vaccume hose after that i read code p0401 what that means

P0401: Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system - insufficient flow detected

Causes: Hose leak/blockage, basic setting not carried out (if applicable), wiring, EGR valve, EGR solenoid, ECM

better clean out hoses and valves...

2005 dodge caravan p0404 error code mechanic replaced egr valve code still on

Code may just need to be cleared out/ or there may be carbon in the intake manifold ,/you can try some carbon cleaner like Seafoam or concentrated injector cleaner /may clean it up for you .bring it back and have them read & clear codes. ethanol gas problem. add a can of SEAFOAM to tank of Premium gas. change fuel filter after 100 miles. then add SEAFOAM 3-5000 miles to keep fuel line/system;emissions, and valves clean of ethanol goop and water which is created by this awful ethanol mixture.

You can try cleaning the EGR valve and passages with Seafoam. A bottle costs just a few dollars at any auto parts store or discount store. With the engine running, squirt/spray it in through the brake booster hose, or through the PCV hose. This will cause smoke to come out the exhaust. This is normal and will disappear after a few minutes. If Seafoam does not do the trick, then you can still disassemble the EGR valve from the throttle body and clean it with throttle body cleaner.

EGR System .....Not Ready

Try running a tank of Supreme gas & a can of SEAFOAM in the gas tank. It might clear up your problem????? Go chance of it.

Egr trouble code 35 keeps turning light on

It could simply be that the EGR valve is clogged. You could try doing a Seafoam treatment on the vacuum system to see if that can free up the EGR (you can get the Seafoam at AutoZone or any other parts store, and it's cheap). You'd need to find a vacuum line you can easily remove, and feel suction into the engine from. Pour some Seafoam into a bowl (maybe 1/3 of the bottle), and use a small piece of vinyl hose to get it into the engine. Put the hose into the vacuum nipple, seal around it with tape, and dip the other end into the bowl. Rev the engine as needed to allow the engine to **** up the fluid. You may need to rev it up during the first couple minutes following the ingestion of the Seafoam - the car will blow black smoke out of the tailpipes and may stumble and run rough. This will let up as the engine burns off the excess carbon inside, and afterward your car should run quite a bit better. Put the vacuum line back on and you're good to go.
