SOURCE: 2001 Oldsmobile Alero turn signal works intermittenly.

There is a Chevy Recall on this. I have the same exact problem. Go to your local Authorized Chevy Dealer and tell them to look up the Turn Signal Recall. They will fix it 100% Free. I had to set up an appointment but its free, so why not.

SOURCE: 2001 Oldsmobile Alero Temperature goes high -

I would have someone pressure test the cooling system to determined if there is an external or internal leak somewhere as it sound like you have one or the other. An internal leak, such as a head gasket, won't show up as a dripping coolant but will cause coolant to be forced out of the coolant reserve tank in a kind of bubbly burp as the engine warms up while an external leak usually can be spotted by following the trail of leaking coolant back to it's source. I would suggest having it checked out as soon as possible as serious engine damage can result from even a fairly short time spent overheating.

Sounds like you have a bad multi-function switch or signal switch they are the same thing. This will fix the cruise control but, your other problem is your hazard warning switch replace it to.This will fix both of your problems.P.S you can get both of these from www.rockauto.com for less than $60.00.

Where is the flasher in my 2001 oldsmobile alero? i hear the clicking all day long as if the blinker is on.

The problem is the hazard flasher. You will need to replace it and this should stop the clicking. This is the switch on the dash where you turn on the hazard flashers. If you play with it while it is flashing sometimes it will stop. This is a good way to tell that this is the problem.Hope this helps.Good luck.

i have a 2000 and you gotta replace the hazard light switch due to the company used cheap products and it shorts out your signal lights...usually costs around 200

Blinkers

I'd try replacing the hazard switch - the relay for the turn signals is incorporated into it. My friend's daughter has the same car as your daughter, and after going through the wiring diagrams, that was the only candidate for causing the failure. We changed it and it fixed the problem.
