that solution is wrong.after step two you need to take out the engine mount.as well and then continue with step four. because if you don,t take out the engine mount you cannot take out the starter.

    hope this is helpful

O.k the solution is not totally accurate. because when you get to step two you need to take out the engine mount.because if you don,t take out the engine mount you cannot take out the the starter.and i think you are going to have to take both of them [engine mount]out and jack up the car. hope this is helpful

  1. Disconnect battery negative remote cable from remote ground post.
  2. Raise vehicle.
  3. Remove two wiring harness connectors. One for battery feed, and one posi-lock connector.
  4. Remove two bolts and one nut to starter heat shield.
  5. Remove three starter attaching bolts from engine/transaxle.
  6. Remove starter assembly from transmission housing.
  7. Rotate starter solenoid toward engine block and slide rear of starter motor out between catalyst and engine mount.
  8. Remove the starter from vehicle

Did you check out the basics? Does the starter motor spin and kick out the drive gear? Did you check the flywheel teeth? Did the old starter motor use shims?

Can a 1999 dodge intrepid 2.7 liter motor fit in a 2002 dodge intepid that also contained a 2.7 liter motor are they compatible

look at the cars vin# on the door panel. the 99 model it will tell you what month and year the car was made such as 06/1999 if the 1999 model was made from 06/99 not before but 06/99 and above the engines will fit. also check the bolt patterns on the transmissions and starter location on each motor to see if in the same locations. if all match, they will interchange. thank you for choosing fixya.com

I have a 99 Intrepid and it wont start. There is no power to the dash(nothing). Battery is 1 year, Starter new. With boost cables, dash lights up, but car only clicks.

battery is dead again let it charge longer then try it.
clean your cables and then have the alt and battery checked if they are both good then something is staying on like mine my brake lights stayed on once and killed the battery
good luck

99 intrepid hard to start and or cutts out, what is my solution

n most 90's and up Dodge/Chrysler vehicles, you can try to pull codes from the car's computer as long as you still have a charged battery. Put your key in the ignition, and turn it forward, but not far enough to engage the starter. Turn the key back to the Off position, then forward, back and forward again. In early 90s vehicles, the Check Engine light is going to flash a number of times. Often, code 55 means it is completed.
In mid and late 90s vehicles, you will often get a 4 digit code that may help you diagnose problems starting, mostly checking the eletrical, ignition and sensor systems.
