Question about 2001 Ford Taurus
On the fuel rail, metal line on top of the motor that injectors are hooked to, there should be a pressure release valve on one end of the engine. It may have a cap on it. under the cap it looks like the valve where you air up your tires. you can check for fuel pressure by turning the key on, but dont start it, for 3 seconds and off again. do this twice. Then. you can depress the center of that valve and it should spray out fuel, if the pump is working. make sure the engine is not hot and be careful not to get sprayed in the eyes, etc, Also when you turn on the key, you should be able to faintly hear the pump run for 3 seconds or so. hope this helps and BE CAREFUL!!

SOURCE: 2001 ford taurus wont start
It could be bad plugs, plug wires, a bad ground will do this as well. Check to see if it has the three main things.
Anther common problem is the crank shaft speed sensor. It will cause it to not spark and not start.

Testimonial: "Very helpfull, except i think I installed it wrong because its doing the same thing, Fuel gauge is not working properly, I did not notice any arrows o"
Make sure you replaced the right one there are two sensor's for the coolant, one takes coolant temp and the other one runs the fans for the radiator. Both are located on drivers side of the block. 2 wire leads on each how ever both are different in sending readings to the computer. Both look just alike also. Just make sure you replaced the right one. Or replace both.
