You realize tune-ups ended 25 years ago

They only install spark plugs, there hasn't been
any tuning in decades, that is what the cars computer
sort of does.

SOURCE: 2001 Chrysler 300M Engine Overheated

I had an overheating problem with my 2001 300M....removed the thermostat two years ago and have never had a problem does get cold in the Winter but warms up enough so you don't freeze. I don't think most service centers know that the thermostat goes in BACKWARDS from most cars...due to the coolant coming through a small line through the head....which often gets clogged up...thus the thermostat doesn't work properly. I just decided to remove the thermostat and have had no issues with the car driving it that way.

SOURCE: 2000 Chrysler Cirrus 100,000 miles

since it is a 2000 there is no distributor. it sounds like you need to go to your local auto parts store and buy a fuel filter and good ol can of seafoam. your fuel injectors may be dirty.p.s. install fuel filter after seafoam ;) thats the trickp.p.s. dont do it in a garage-youll probably kill yourself. it will smoke some :)

SOURCE: '99 Chrysler T&C van stalls without warning

When was last tune up? Plugs, wires, all fluids & filters especially fuel filter? I'd start there and run a good fuel system cleaner through it. Also avoid cheap fuel - lot of questionable fuel at cheap/cut rate stations.

I need help my 2003 regal needs to go through emissions tried 4x but keeps reading not ready i finally had computer disconnected cleaned up and reconnected again how many miles b4 its ready to retest

Usually 100 miles give or take.
But its not the mileage as much as the driving conditions.
The car has to be driven at various speeds and at operating temp for the computer to test emissions components.
So something like 50 miles of city driving and 50 miles of highway AFTER the engine is warmed up.

I have a 98 safari van that has been put on a scanner which the codes read: P0420(catalyst system efficiency below threshold-bank1), P0452(evaporative emission control system pressure sensor low imput) and...

You may need a mechanic. At least a shop manual.
The catalytic converter code means the computer does not think the cat is working right based on input from the O2 sensors. That data would need to be checked out and verified along with a temp scan of the cat itself.
The other two codes are saying the signal from the pressure sensor is too high and too low. The computer measures pressure inside the gas tank to make sure it vents correctly. The pressure sensor could be faulty, or it could be something else in the venting system.

If you just had a tune up done, return it to the shop that did it. They may have left something off that would be quick and easy for them to find since they were just in there.

My dodge dakota it idles below 1000 rpms and it sounds like its about to stall. and if i rev it up and then let off it will stall instantly. when i am driving from first gear to second it goes up to 4000...

It is actually hard to say without actually seeing the vehicle, but the target speed for your engine idle is around 750 RPM. The stalling after revving kind of depends on how high you are revving it and whether the engine is at operating temperature or not. This may be normal. Then again, it could be that the Idle Air Control (IAC) is not working properly.

The shifting from first to second at 4000 RPM sounds like a completely separate problem. This could be due to low transmission fluid level, sticking shift control solenoids, or possibly even a malfunctioning Vehicle Speed Sensor.

If the Check Engine light is on, have that checked first.

My 90 celica takes about 5 minutes to start,

gosh i really wish we can both get assistance on this one , mine is a 2003 and does the same thing. when i took it to the shop they said it could be my catalistic (somethng like that) converter, once i fixed that , now they are saying the problem are the emissions, ( i think emissions are the hoses that are probably not well connected.

Car overheats stop and go traffic, heater works over 2 rpms

I had a similar problem with 2003 nissan sentra, no heat , and car would stall on road on and off. Became a problem more frequently stalling. Took to nissan and they said it was head gasket. Fixed it and never had problem again. But i had it fixed at a local dealership since nissan was charging 1000.00 compared to 550.00. I replaced water pump and thermostat first b4 this and no cigar.

Easy fix... Take a gallon of gas and a clean cloth or shirt. Soak the cloth in the gas and wipe all the interior down with the gas.

Then poor some of the gas all over the engine, making sure to soak it really good

After doing this, take a match and burn that f**ker..
Mine was doing the same thing, I burned it and blamed it on Islamic jihad to my insurance. Never looked back

You could have gotten bad gas in your tank. Did you try dry gas at all? Also, bad gas can leave alot of sediment at the bottom of your tank, waiting for the right movement to get moving into your system. A new filter would only get quickly clogged again. I had this happen- got gas from a station after a flood- fuel tank had to be dropped and cleaned out.
