How do I change a ring tone on a Carlton Model RC3253

What is a Carlton? we are in USA

ABS Axle Tone Rings?

The only ones I have seen or worked on
are pressed on the axle or are part of a wheel
hub,rotor or whatever.

I have heard of them cracking & coming loose, etc.
That is a near impossible fix without taking things apart

Abs ightcomes on

Most common problems that cause an ABS light in the XJ is a bad clockspring - located in your steering wheel, or the ABS tone rings themselves rusting too much. The tone rings are the toothed rings at the end of each of your axle shafts.

The clockspring would have to be replaced, but the tone rings can often just be cleaned of rust so that the ABS sensors can read them again.

Abs light on the bloke im buying it from says the car has been stood a couple of months and it wasnt on before it got parked up could it be that its got dirt on the sensor. ste

Tell him to clean the sensor to put the light out. It is bound to be more than dirt. Once the ABS light is on, you usually have to empty your wallet to put it out. Maybe it's a sensor, but not from dirt. Maybe a wire broke, sometimes a tone ring splits. You can easily do a visual inspection of the sensors, tone rings, and wires; but if those are good, it's probably the control unit. I have pasted a picture of the tone ring on the axle. The rear tone rings are inside the drum and less susceptible to damage. Make sure the tone ring is square on the axle and not loose--no missing teeth, etc. Sensor should be square on the tone ring. Let me know if you have more questions.

Recently changed brake pads and now ABS and Tract control sensor lights are on

These systems use a "tone ring" and sensor at the wheel. The tone ring goes around the axle and has a bunch od teeth on it--kind of like a gear. The sensor looks like a little cylinder facing close to the tone ring. Check the wheels you replaced brakes on for damage to these parts.

I cannot hear my phone ring. It is set to high

Look for a setting that changes the ring from vibrate to ring. It's a setting different from that of ring volume.
