My digidoor 1000n motor recently did not close all the way leaving a gap of about 60 mm and yesterday the gap seemed a bit bigger more like 100 mm how do i set it to close fully

on the rail there should be 2 cylindrical black magnetic read switches with white wires connected to them.
Those are the open and close distance units
sometimes they come loose and move with the vibration of the motor when opening the door

You ask a question impossible to answer. No one will be able to tell you exactly what is wrong with your engine without carrying out some checks and a hands-on or ears-on inspections.

Doctors don't diagnose illness without seeing the patient...

What I can tell you is generally a rhythmic noise that runs at half engine speed that fades as the engine speed rises is probably safe to drive as far as the repair shop.

A noise that increases with engine that runs at engine speed should be towed or trailered to the repair shop.

There are a few possibilities for this and all of which you will have to get your mechanic to look at.
1. Faulty sensor

Vw golf mk4 my rear passenger door willnot open with central locking key system. i can't even open it from the inside, pull the door handle and the lock pin rises but door won't open. i believ

This worked for me on 2008 Mk5 Golf, after the rear passenger door would not open fro outside or inside.

Hold the inside door latch open and keep it extended, then with the key fob open and close the door locks (still holding the inside latch open). Keep locking and unlocking the door, then it made a kluck and it released.

Sliding door no longer open, it make a sound like it's going to open but don't

Manually make it open and check the cable inside the track. Mine got pinched by something and one of the 20 wires in the cable got severed and now the door will open but not shut. Also make sure the child safety is off or you can't open it from the inside.

Door closer problem

Your description sounds like a sensor is malfunctioning. the close sensor needs to be slightly LESS sensitive, based on your "assistance" description.

Alan, I would have BMW look at it. Your tech is throwing parts at it and is clueless as to problem. I could give you suggestions (I used to work for BMW NA) and there are a ton of possibilities, some simple and cheap others a little more costly but no where near $3500. Let a BMW tech test it, read the codes and solve your problem. 2 good reasons for BMW to do it - #1 they guarantee their work for 1yr/12k miles and # 2 they rely on their CSI (Customer Service Index) and fixing it right keeps their status up
