Sounds like it is running to rich.

With a scan tool check the coolant temp sensor to see what it is reading. When the engine is cold it should read about the same as the air temperature. When it is warmed up it should be more than 195 degrees F.

I would also be curious to see what the fuel pressure is at.

Is the check engine light on?

I’m happy to assist further over the phone at

No-- it does not run better

Your letting in unmetered air & the oxygen
sensor sees that & the computer adds fuel
& your rpm goes up for awhile

Are the spark plugs over 3 years old?
Is the fuel pressure at motor correct
Does the misfire set a PO300 code
Does the check light stay lite or blink
Is the egr system working as it should
Any vacuum leaks,exhaust,evap system,
O2 Sensors over 100,000 miles,front ones

See if you can get a road test with a professional
scan tool along & look at cylinder misfire counts &
fuel trim

Where is low port to recharge ac?

Near the firewall you have both air cond pipes coming out. There is a black cap on the larger of the two alum pipes. It is under the air filter housing and should be able to see it without removing the air filter housing. That is the low pressure side.
The high pressure should run along the chassis rail and near the radiator there is another black cap on a smaller alum pipe.
Remember always yes always vacumm the air cond system for at least 3 hours to dry out the air cond system correctly. If you don't if will only work for a short time before playing up again.
Some shops don't do this and wonder why a car keeps coming back for more gas. Good for them bad for customer.

Bucking occasionally at high speed.just riding along at 80 kph and the odd little kick happens like its hard shifting.could it be transmission filter or misfiring?does not do it in the city below 80 kph

look like you have a missfire probleme ,check you distributeur cap and rotor first you reluctor wheel on the shaft ,hi wire especialy the coil one.if still missfire check the frt cranckshaft bolt if it loose .that mean the wheel behind the cover get loose and you can have 30 degrees of play on the crancksensor.

Check engine light flashing runs rough not firing on all cylinder2000 lincoln navigator with large triton engine Hooked up diagnnostic and it said 1. system too lean bank #2 2. Unable to bleed up fuel tank...

you may try your rotor button and distributor cap. and spark plug wires. try your map sensor also they tend to cause a lot of misfiring if they go bad.hope this helps.

My 01 passat with 1.8 is having random missfire's . first the check engine light came on and I had it read it said it was running leanon bank 1 , the mechanic told us it wasmost likely the mass air flow...

Running lean on bank 1... is your Oxygen Sensor, which is mounted on the exhaust system...Now as for the misfiring, pull out all of you coils, and check the coil and the boot, for white spots..It may have a short, and the electricity is jumping around, and causing it to misfire...

check the o-ring under the cap or just replace cap, dodge uses a system called leak detection with a small pump to put vacumm on the evap system if the system fails to hold vaccum then it is 90% time the fuel cap or bad vaccum line in evap system or purge valve.

Intermidint cluncking noise from front

That sounds like what may be happening is the "Vacumm Motor" that locks and disconnects the front axle is binding and not engaging all the way. Or possibly the vacumm supply is not sufficient. Trace the vacumm hoses and look for oil contamination or other damage. You may want to hook up a vacumm guage and check the two hoses. One will have vacumm on 4WD engage and the other on 2WD. You should see the same amount both ways.
Make sure that the 4WD engage lite works too. That would be the electrical switch on the front axle. It should turn on a indicator lite on. (I believe all models are equipped with one with that system)
And before you're done you should inspect all the u-joints and drive axle Constant Velocity joints for wear or the presence of rust around the caps. If there is rust around the cap it is probably full of rust instead of grease (bad) It good to check those periodically but those shouldn't be creating you're noise intermittently.
Let me know how that works for you.
