The windshield whipers on my 93 jeep wrangler stopped working and now work randomly. what should i look for to fix the problem
When they do not work turn the key to the run position, the vehicle does not need to be running, and the wipers set to high speed whack the wiper motor with the handle end of a large screwdriver. if the motor starts to work replace it.

Check the connection to the speed sensor gear. It will be a cable plugged into the output shaft on the top of the transfer case (behind the transmission). It is possible that it became disconnected or has a broken wire.

I hate to state the obvious but you didnt say. have you checked your wiper relay and the fuses? Locted ubder the hood in a black box passenger side. Hope this helps.

the wiper needs to be tighten some more, there is a nut that holds the wiper to the motor tight that nut.
