Thank you so much. I was hoping to not have to pay a dealer to do something this simple.

    Thanks again

Turn ignition switch to OFF position , (all power door locks will lock and unlock) . use a fused jumper wire and jump programming connector to ground . see picture , press any button on one transmitter , door locks , fuel door and trunk lid release should activate in about 2 seconds , first transmitter is now programmed , repeat this last step using a 2nd transmitter , if only one transmitter is being used , disconnect jumper wire and test remote(s) . cheers . if procedure is to technical , ask someone mechanically inclined to help .

1996 Chevy Lumina Sedan Whining noise from engine

The pattern you describe is consistent with an alternator going bad. Maybe the fields are already rubbing together. Test it this way: Start the car and leave on idle, when the whine is worse, then start using up electricity, by increasing the demand. Turn on AC, then lights, then full blower and then high beams. If there is a change in the whine, then either alternator or voltage regulator is the culprit. When a compressor pulley bearing is bad, noise shifts just by turning AC on and off.

I have a 1996 chevy lumina sedan with no reverse. Other than replacing the tranny is there any other possible solutions.

It is possible that your gear indicator is not lined up with the actual transmission. Try the lever in each position to see where each gear really is. You may just be off a notch. If so, you were probably driving around with only 3 out of your 4 forward gears. Good luck

Turn signal not working on my '96 Lumina sedan

You have to have special tools to do this job. A steering wheel puller, a tool to press the steering wheel lock plate which has a snapring on it. It has to be pressed to get the snapring off. after you get that off, you can see the complete turn signal switch.
