The wiper motor has a relay circuit board in it. when it goes bad, the wipers will stay on or stop randomly in the middle of the windshield. You can replace this yourself if you have some tools and patience.

Ihave a 2003 Ford Explorer & the windshield wipers won't stop working, with the switch turned off or even removed. The only way to stop them is to remove the battery cable.

Sounds like the park switch in the wiper motor is bad. Some manufacturers allwo you to change the circuit board seperately from the motor, sometimes they have to be changed as a unit

2000 Jeep Cherokee- we just purchased last week.... front wipers won't work. Checked fuse- it's good. Ran wire from battery to wiper motor- it works. Ah ha.... no relay.... purchased relay- NOW......

You can not solve by guessing

You need wiring diagrams, so you know what is
in that system & what is most likely the problem

Then you test to confirm, never replace any parts
until tested & fail a test

Wish & Hope-Push & Poke Not a diagnostic strategy

1999 Pontiac Montana - radio, wipers, A/C, & power

All of these circuits are controlled by the key switch. If the fuses for these circuits are good but have no voltage, I would check the key switch next.

Windshield wipers work when fuse is in but won't turn off unless you remove the fuse. Won't pass inspection. Help!

Check the relay relay maybe latched on. See if there is an identical relay in the box and swap them if problem goes away replace relay.
