Service engine will not go off even after servicing
Service engine light came on about a year ago, and will not go out. No matter what has been done. I had the battery disconnected after replacing a part, it went out for all of 6 minutes then came back on. Could this be a fuse (guage fuse), or the wiring for that particular part of the car???? Where I live (TX) you have to pass inspection yrly, and with that on it I cant pass the test. HELP!!!!!!!

You need to have the codes read with a obdii code reader, some parts stores will test it for free. Once you know what in making the light come on you can repair it accordingly (they are fairly inexpensive to buy approx 60.00 for a mediocre one and it will test codes on foreign and domestic vehicles 1996- 2003 or so) hope this helps.......Good Luck!

Hi check it out. You may need to replace your speed sensor. I was having the same problems a year ago and my speed sensors finally went all the way out. Now my light doesnt come on anymore and the car runs better.
in that year it might be two poss things.the light was not reset when the oil change done or there is a problem with the emissions section which is all about the fuel injection side.suggest to check with shop to see if was reset.otherwise the computer has to be scaned
Light came on due to the engine computer pick up a bad signal from one of your engine sensors, will have to get a code reading to know what's going on, most auto parts will do this service for free or some one like autozone, have it done and get back with us with the code number, so we can help you with your trouble code.
Service your cooling system every 5 years or 150,000 miles. The GM Dex Cool has a life of 5 years or 150,000 miles which ever comes first. Replace the thermostat also and buy the fail safe thermostat, it cost a bit more but worth it.
Service the engine (spark plugs and wire) every 100,000 miles or till engine management prompt attention. (service engine light DTC code)
Service the transmission every 3 years or 60,000 miles, replace the transmission oil and filter. Transfer case fluid and differential fluid.
Service the engine oil and filter every 6 months or 3,000 miles. Lube Chassis
Service the air filter and cabin air filter, wiper blades every 15,000 miles or once a year.
Hello, Not being a Ford man myself but have reset many service interval lights, Try holding down either trip meter button or odometer reset whilst turning on the ignition. You may need to hold it down for 10/20 seconds. If unsure do what I've done in the past hold down all buttons on speedo face.
Good Luck and Happy New Year to you and your family!
