Question about Cars & Trucks

Car jumping during gear change

Im driving an automatic 00 Polo 1.4. Recently the car jerks when its put into drive & when im actually driving the car jerks forward when the gears change. There is a light on the dash (think its cps) also most of the time. It has difficulty accelerating & the revs are past 3 for a while before it changes gears. I only have the car a few weeks & it was fine when i bought it. Any ideas?

Several possible causes.
1.Erattic or high line pressure
2.Electrical fault at solenoids (EV5 on 01N, 01M and01P boxes)
3.Hydraulic malfunction with same solenoid

Has anyone change the transmission fluid and used anything other than Honda ATF-Z1. If so, have the fluid/filter changed in this car and use only Honda Fluid. This is the only fluid that you can use in a Honda. Even if you have used the correct fluid an fluid/filter change may help. If that is not the case then I suggest you seek out a trusted professional.

SOURCE: 2002 Montero Sport 4X2 jerks during and after

Check the 'U' joints in the drive line. Check the engine/transmission mounts for damage or looseness. The real enigma is trying to determine if this is an engine or a chassis problem. If the check engine light is on, doing a scan of the computer should show engine problems. If no light, concentrate on anything in the chassis for periodic binding. Good luck!

Im driving an opel astra j essentia 1.6 2011 model, recently it started jerking or cutting petrol supply, i bought a new petrol pump the problem still persists please assist.

Jerking or cutting fuel supply? How did you determine that? This is most likely a sensor in the engine. Could be a fuel pump relay but it most likely is a crank shaft sensor.

If the engine light is blinking you have major issues with the vehicle. Have scanned at autozone or similar for codes this will give you a idea what is wrong. Then get back to me when you have codes

Why does my car jerk really bad when shifting from park to drive? sometimes while im driving it also does the same thing

Transaxle is most likely worn out & due to
be rebuilt

The hard shifting could be an electrical control problem

When you drive any vehicle, even 10 miles ,with any trans
problems, you basically ruin it & do so quickly

What happens is no one changes the fluid every 3 years

It breaks down from the heat & so goes the trans

Then thinking a fluid change will help & it won't do a thing
after years of neglect, the fluid is changed & nothing gets better
& sometimes the trans starts to slip.

What you need to do is have a trans or repair shop check for codes
& road test with you along & driving, to explain the issues

Not changing the fluid causes microscopic particles that normally
occur in side a trans as it wears the clutch material & bushings, to
become lodged in the solenoids

Finding the bad solenoid & even getting to them on a transaxle
verse a rear drive vehicle, is a problem & since your driving it
with the slamming & such from delayed shifts ,your pretty much done.

2004 vehicle is 11 years old & about 150,000 miles

Pull it & rebuild it or install a reman

If it were a rear drive such as my 2004 lincoln ,I would say
pull the pan & change the solenoid pack, not so on yours

2003 oldsmobile alreo skips whenever foot is on break or when driving up hill

Before the exhaust converter was replace, the shop should
have corrected any code related issues & made sure the fuel
trim was working correctly & no leaking injectors or vacuum leaks,
or you could ruin the new converter with class A or B cylinder misfires

It could be ignition issues, egr system, any vacuum leaks, mechanical
valve or timing problems

Need to start over & do many hours of the proper testing
to resolve things

My transmission is slipping

The clutch lining worn out n the lining powder stuck on the transmission filter so transmission fluid pass through the filter clogged.. Only way is to repair the transmission or replace the whole transmission.

This is common in your truck. It will be the Pressure Control Valve Assembly. It will need to be changed.
