SOURCE: speedometer/odometer not working 2000 kia sportage

Your Vehicle velocity sensor has gone bad or the wire harness has gone bad. Check the wire harness first and if that is good, then replace the sensor. You can find the sensor on the transmission out put shaft on the drivers side. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help.

2005 kia spectra speedometer and odometer not working, no codes, everything else functions and car drives fine any sugestions on how to troubleshoot.

Sounds like a bad speedometer sensor. Usually located on the transmission. The only way to fix the speedometer/odometer is to replace the sensor.

I have a 2005 Kia sportage. The speedometer went out and I am told it will need a new instrument cluster and @ $700.00 to fix. Does this sound correct?

If it is out of warranty, I would find a used instrument cluster on ebay or at a junkyard and pay a shop to install one. I could live with the fact that the odometer will never be right. Other than that you are at the mercy of the dealer for parts and their labor and I am sure they will not install a used instrument cluster

My speedometer quit but the odometer still works (1998 F150) can you solve this

Usually it's the opposite. The speedometer works and the odomater and trip meter go inop. Most likely the speedometer assembly is bad. If the odometer is working you have a signal from the gray and black wire .

You need to replace the speedometer gear that drives the sensor.

Speedometer Quit working, odometer also. Don't

Hello.
What sounds like happened is that the instrument cluster fuse sounds like its burnt out. Otherwise the wires on the back of them both may have been knocked out. Very simple fix if its the fuse, if not, pull the cluster out and check the wiring. Hope this helps!

Kia Spectra Speedometer not working

Two possible fixes. Replace speed sensor. If this does not fix the problem take it to your Kia dealer. There is a common problem in the wiring inside the engine compartment fuse box. They can fix it with labor only. Usually runs about $200.
