SOURCE: 1991 toyota supra blue smoke from tail pipe when get of the gas

The intake valve guide seals are worn and are letting oil slip by under high engine vacuum--as when you let up on the gas. The only fix is to take the cylinder head off and replace the valve guide seals. This problem is pretty normal for an older car with high mileage. It will probably run just fine. Just keep checking the oil level and keep it topped up.

SOURCE: Toyota Town ace Diesel turbo pump continuously

is it the primming pump? if so replace it if its the the injection pump it may have to be removed and send to a service centre for repair. to save time and money you can look for a junk town ace with engine intact and take the pump from that once its ok

Gotta agree with Noodles on this one.
I saw you turned up your stock turbo to more than 10psi. I've got an 87' and I would love to do the same thing. How'd you do it?

Yes the points on the relays need to be clean. If the fuel pump does not turn on when you turn the key on the relay is bad.

I have a 1989 Toyota Supra Turbo that just started making a high pitch noise. Hard to tell where it's coming from. Almost like a steering pump. Any suggestions? Wish I had more to share and help narrow it...

Hi,
it sounds like you may have a leak on the intake air system or the turbo has a fault.
You don't state your skills level so I am reluctant to dispense advice that you may not be familar with.

A simple test for airleaks on the inlet / intake system would be to start the car, (parking brake applied and trans in P / N or neutral in a manual trans.) Visually check the intake system for broken clamps, damaged hoses, especially the air hose connected to the turbo. A small leak will produce a very evident "whistle". If the turbo has covered a lot of miles, the compressor wheel and turbine blades may be in contact with the housing, due to worn bearings. Turbos spin in excess of 100,000RPM so it doesnt take much to throw them off, as it were. The wastegate should also be checked for correct operation.

You mentioned steerring pump. Slack the drive belt to the PAS pump. If the noise is not evident when that is done, then you have pinpointed the problem.

Can I use a non turbo head on a turbo?

Yes the heads are interchangable. Best way to find out if stuff is interchangable is to go to Toyota dealer and compare part #'s
