Question about 2000 Buick Regal

Air Conditioning isn't cooling

Hi,

I have a 2000 Buick Regal that I purchased for our second home in Florida. Lately the a/c doesn't cool. The blower also seems a bit weak. Cool air comes out, but not cold air, and the car doesn't cool. I'm wondering where I should take it and if it might just be that I need some freon. Any advice would be appreciated.

I have the exact same problem. I am in Houston. Last October my air conditioning would intermittently blow cold air and then sometimes it would blow air like just coming out the vent but not cooled. Finally it went ka-put and now it never cools. Now outside it is warming up again (some days approaching 80 degrees) and I need air conditioning in the car. I'm hoping the repair isn't too expensive -- let's hope refilling some canister (freon?) is all it needs. Thanks for the advice.

You will have to take it into your nearest a/c specailist as it sound like your A/C canister needs refilling.

Engine Cooling problem 2000 Jeep Cherokee 4 cyl

Although the 4 cylinder is too underpowered to have air conditioning in my opinion, it still shouldn't overheat within 10 minutes unless something is wrong. If your Jeep doesn' not overheat when you are driving WITHOUT AC on then your compressor might have a problem and causing the engine to work too hard to turn it.

But if it overheats without the AC on, then the first thing you need to do is check the cooling fan and see if it operates! There has been a lot of problems with the cooling fan relay on this model. If that isn't it, then move to changing the thermostat and checking the water pump.

Automobile air conditioning on max cool, blows hot air on passenger side tried dual climate control settings still cold on driver hot on passenger

I had the same problem when i was working on my 1999 Buick Regal and had to disconnect the battery. I didn't reconnect in the same way that I disconnected the battery from the terminal and noticed that the driver side had no heat or air but the passenger side did. I then disconnected the battery again and reconnected it the same way and now have heat and air on both the driver and passenger side. Hope this helps. Good Luck!
