The engine will fit but the accessory's. Just make sure you have the same engine which is the L36. if you can get a L26 which would be the years 2005 to 2008 from a Buick LaCrosse, that would be a better investment since it has the aluminum upper intake and stronger connecting rods which is the only physical changes to the engine. The compression ratio is still the same at 9.4:1 but with the stronger rods, you can put a simple 6 pounds of boost out of a turbo and get another 90 HP with an inter cooler, looking at 285 HP with a 330 pounds of torque running on 91 octane. God luck and hope this helps, here is link http://cartuning.ca/about/

91 buick regal. fuel coming out of throttle body when turning over the motor

Has throttle body been rebuilt? What about the gaskets/seals? are they new, (incl base gasket)? Also check throttle valve shaft for leakage between throttle body and shaft.

I have a 1997 buick la sabre and i need to locate and replace the throttle sensor and i do not know where it is located and how to change it...can anyone help?

The throttle position sensor is on the throttle body, exactly opposite the throttle cable. Locate the throttle cable, and look on the opposite side of that aluminum housing that the big black air intake tube attaches to.

Where is throttle located on a buick century 2001? my car is acting on its own by accelerating without having foot on gas pedal. when i put it in park it sounds like i have foot on gas pedal. i was told it...

If you follow your intake tube to the side of the motor... the right side that is there will be a little plate with 2 cables going into the top and pull it downward. This is your throttle pulley and that opens the throttle plate on the inside in the intake tube.

How do I replace the coolant temp sensor?

if the engine is a 3100 it's at the back of the intake below the throttle body
if it's a 3800 then it's below the thermostat housing

We want to put a 1992 Park Ave 3800 motor into a 1999 Pk AV 3800. Is that posssible

the motor may bolt up - the fuel line connections - throttle body wire connections and other wire connections will probably not connect - the main difference is on the top side from heads up on the 2 motors - the design change was for 1996 cars

Blown upper air intake manifold on gm 3800 series two engine

Parts stores carry a kit including a manifold and gaskets. When I do the job I always replace the lower intake gaskets because they leak too. Make sure the lower manifold is not warped around the rubber gaskets towards the throttle body side, a new or used loewr manifold might be needed to ensure a correct repair.

Replace engine air filter

Hi pastore -

Changing an air filter is generally an easy task to perform. Pop your hood and look for the air intake tube. This tube (sometimes more of a labrynth) runs from your throttle body to the "air-box". You can locate the throttle body by having an assistant push and release the gas pedal (while car is off) while you look for moving parts under the hood. The mechanism that moves when the pedal is depressed is the throttle body. Now trace the intake tube (large tube/hose) from the throttle body down to the air-box. The air filter will be located within the air-box. The box usually has a series of clamps that hold a cover in place. Release all of the clamps and lift open the cover to expose the air filter. The air filter should just be sitting in the air box - should be easily removed by lifting the filter element upwards. The new filter should simply drop in place of the old one. Reclamp the cover and you're good to go!.

Please let me know if you need more clarification!

Can I change the electronic idler motor on my 1998 camry or does it require

The air intake tube is the plastic or rubber hose that connects the air filter box to the throttle body. It should be about 3-4 inches in thickness..... The motor is relitivly easy to change. Although, you will need to remove the throttle body to change because it is located on the botton of the throttle body. Let me know if you have any problems.

Coolant leak

This engine has a plastic intake, jsut inside of the throttle body is a tube that comes from the EGR. It will burn through the plastic into a coolant passage located inside of the intake. You will need to replace the intake manifold and if you want there is a revised lower intake manifold with a slightly smaller diameter tube to prevent future burn through that will prevent a reoccurance. However, it is a costly repair for what is a infrequent failure. I suggest just replacing the upper intake manifold. They are now available through the aftermarket.
