I went out to start my 96 cavalier. Its been fine. All of sudden it was idling rough, vibrating and shaking on drivers side, and engine and coolant light are on. Sounds like it is going to blow up!! Never had problem like this before. All has been well and oil just changed 2 weeks ago. I am 30, female and single....help!

Sounds like there is a blown piston, to be sure have a compression test done on that #2 cylinder, if the reading is low, then you'll know.
A friend of mine had a 95 that did simular things only a little more,
it started smoking, dash lights flickered, etc. Finally, he had to get rid of it, the piston rod went through the engine block.

Autozone and similar stores will check the codes in the computer for free usually. That is the best place to start. Other possibilities are Engine Coolant Temperature sensor (saying the engine is cold when it's not) or excessive fuel pressure (bad regulator or blocked return line)
