Could be something as simple as adjustment & or lubrication, to parts needing replacement. Also will depend on rear disk or rear drum brakes. Do/did you use it on a regular basis ?

The light is blinking because the brake fluid in the master cylinder reservioir is low. Add an ounce of fluid and the light will go out.

The rear brakes also are in need of adjustment.

This should help you out.
A FixYa rating would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

My Toyota Harrier 2003 Premium L ABS and Handbrake indicator light is on sometimes but my mechanic has check on the brake pad, brake fluid and others everything seem to be in order but just don't...

Could it be a broken abs speed sensor wire to one of the wheels . And for the hand brake sometimes on vehicles with the handbrake between the seats some junk will get in between the brake lever and the down position causing the light to intermittently go on or could be a switch or wire thing again .

Is the hand brake really easy to pull??? You may have to adjust your hand brake cable. I found a video on how to adjust the cable.
Hope this is helpful :-)

How do I fixed if my car hand brake stuck 2001 toyota coralla manual

There are several things that can make a hand brake stick on. It possible the cable attached to the leaver has come off it guide. There is a cable running from each rear wheel to the handbrake leaver , a inner cable running through a outer housing , chick that the inner cable is free to move back and forward . if all the cables are free to slide adjust the rear brakes and hand brake as instructions . Slacken off the hand brake cable adjustment. Jack up the rear wheals and adjust the brake shoes till the brakes lock, then back off till the wheels are free to turn. Then pull the hand brake leaver on two clicks and adjust the hand brake cable till the rear wheels just start to bind, release the hand brake leaver and check the wheels are free to turn.

The brake light on my dash stays on even when the emergency brake is off. THe interior light sometimes goes on when the door is opened, sometimes doesn't and the ignition light doesn't always come on

The handbrake warning light is activated by a switch on the handbrake bracket under the console. This is most likely stuck or broken.

The interior light staying off when the door opens is common. It could be that a door plunger switch is sticking (they can corrode inside), or there is poor contact at each end of the dome light globe. Take out the globe and press the contacts closer (just a bit) then push the globe back in, checking that it is firmly held. Then spray a little WD40 or similar on the plunger of each door switch and press it in a few times against the spring.

Which ignition light is not working, one of the warning lights? Or the check engine light?

Hand brake cable comes all the way to the rear and the linkages can be adjusted on either side.

What does it mean when the explanation point on the dash is lighting up?

This is the check tire pressure light. you either have a low tire pressure or bad sensors. check all tire pressure first with a guage. turn off car and restart it and drive around the block. if this doesnt fix it some Toyota sensors have a problem where if the tires are under 35psi the light eventually comes on, even if their recommended pressure is 30.

make sure the emergency brake is off!!!

if the brake is off and the drums still will not come off, spin the drum with one hand and hit it with a hammer. make sure you do not hit the wheel studs. it may take quite a few wacks but it will break loose
