Open Question

My 2011 Jeep Patriot battery keeps dying. It happened the past two times I tried to start it with my key-ring. Is my battery dead, or is it some safety feature?

SOURCE: Won't do anything when trying to start. Jump start and fires up on the spot, but dies when gas pedal not depressed.

Check the ignition coil packs. It sounds like a spark problem.

SOURCE: car battery dead, key battery dead, can not open

Pull on emergency bonnet release cable located under the right front head light area. Stainless steel cable, which can be hard to find, but it is there and is very tight.

SOURCE: 2008 jeep patriot wiring has gone haywire. took

Open the power distribution center box near the battery and remove the asd relay that should shut it down. as for the problem itself, it could be a bad relay, a bad ignition switch or some odd ball thing that needs testing to find.
Good luck!

Are you check if have some fault code there? I suggest scanned the PCM to know it? Additionally, could be some electrical problem (starter, battery charge, etc.).

Keep in mind that your vehicle is underwarranty, so, before to make some change or replacement part, applied at warranty with your dealer. Its possible that you electric key need to be re-programmed.

Jeep Patriot 2011; all electricity won't work when turning the key. Is it a fuse? If so which one? Thank you!

I'd need more information on this like, does the dashboard lights illuminate when the key is turned? If not I would suggest trying a set of jumper leads to see if that works.

2007 jeep gc won't start. Lights, battery all Dash lights had been acting strangely before this happened. Turned the car off, Swapped AC relay with starter relay and nothing.

i guess you mean starter is dead, and all lights dead.
pointing to....
the battery is dead, did you jumper cable start it?
if that works the battery is bad, dead or only dischanged.
if that dont work make sure the battery cable lugs are cleaned.
no rust on cable ends( that green junk there that all cars get)
if the head lamps die (they work key off so...)
then the battery is dead, or rusty lugs.
if battery is dead, charge it. using a charger.

Being that it is basically new, there might be a bad part somewhere. There are so many things that can cause this. I would check the fuses first, in case one blew. Check the fuel pressure and make sure your getting the right amount of gas to the engine. Then, check for spark. Make sure that you are getting a good spark and connection from your ignition system.
