Question about 2004 Dodge Ram

1 Answer

4 wheel drive engages itself after rain or snow

This issue has been serviced by dodge 5 times now. no more warranty. everything works great then after or during rain/snow the car either wont change from 4hi to 2 or it engages 4hi from 2 while driving. i don't notice till i turn the wheels. now it's not even registering any drive. the neutral light is flashing and it's stuck in 4hi. i've tried rocking it in drive, by hand, starting it in neutral. i can hear it trying to engage but it won't. I had that problem last year. Dodge fixed it for $500.00 it was the "Transfer Case Motor". Rock Auto Online http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php has them for $140.00. 3 bolts, two plugs, 15mins. and your done. Wish I had known it would have saved me $360.00.

It states your PCM needs reprogrammed with the error code you are receiving P06DE. Was a pretty common problem back then.

My Dodge caravan run great but slips out of drive and wont go out of 3rd or second gear , and it didnt help , It shifts fine otherwise and doesnt always happen . when it does it wont go back into lowe

There should be a tensioner for the shift lever in the transmission, that help keep the car in the gear you put it in. Check the shift cable or linkage, you may have a issue there. If all that checks out sounds like a internal issue, and most likely would set a code in your computer

Misfire cyl 5 have replaced plugs, plugwires, cap and rotor with top of the line to cheap parts only only does this when it rains or snows?

check for a problem in the injector wiring for that cylinder
check for corrosion in the connections
replace that injector control
injectors cause more misfires than plugs and associated electric do

My 04 Tahoe will engage in 4-high or 4-low, you can hear the clunk and in 4-low it is in low gear but it will not engage the front axial, but in 4-auto it will work fine. All lights indicate everything is...

I had a 4 wheel drive suburban..it had issues with the high-lock and low-lock..I just used the auto setting because all four wheels were getting power anyway..only time you need lock is when you plan to go bogging in really deep mud..on snow/ice all you need is all wheel drive..you actually have better control..as long as it works in all wheel you should be fine..also be checking the front hubs.. are yours full time or do you have lock outs..on the axle hubs..thats my question

My 2002 Toyota Celica fogs up and collects moisture on the windshield during or after a rain. Visibility is a major problem. Need help, this is truly unsafe.

Can be that your heater core or hose inside car is sometimes releasing alittle heat at the clamps. So long the inside of the floor is not wet or damp or car is not over heating. I would not worry about the heater to much inside unless this does not work...
Change the automatic climate control up or down to cooler or warmer i usually run it at least upto 10 or 20 degrees different than the outside anytime i drive mainly during rain or snow.. So if outside it is warmer means you need to be cooler and cooler means get warmer. Also If you don"t run that on a regular basis a quick Ac on and defroster front and back works well and generally fast.I really think that is all of your problem just get comfortable with your automatic climate setting. once in a while it may happen again only because of rapid temp. changing from outside air to inside air in your car..Rain X works really well for a couple weeks between apps.and saves wiperblades during raining times. Always drive safely and good luck 11_21_2011_5_34_27_pm.jpg
